Kyler's Birthday Party!

Samantha had her first friend birthday party today. It was for her friend Kyler Adams. Kyler's dad is my 2nd cousin. Our grandparents (my grandma Ellen) are brother and sister and so we got along really well right away when we moved into the same ward. I hang out with Rachel all the time. She is Kyler's mom and Kyler's dad is Chris. Rachel is behind me a month in her pregnancy so that will be fun, since Kyler is a month older than Sami. It is fun we get together every so often when we both aren't busy and we are also visiting teaching companions. It is great.
Kyler turned 2 last week but since his family from Idaho was up this week they had the party today. It was a blast. A couple other families from our ward came that live near them, and our other second cousin Jared Wolfley and his daughter Ann Marie came. His wife Sherrie just had there second girl yesterday so she was at home, mom and baby are doing well.
They set up two wadding pools and Sami never really got in unless we put her in and she didn't like that. We have decided that Sami has what you would call major "stranger anxiety" we have heard it's the age and have read it's a fear and not to push it but bringing her around the same kids like Kyler helps her. She sat for a bit next to me, but didn't want to miss out on the fun. She played in the waterfall from the one pool until they turned it off since it wasn't hitting the pool and just making the ground soggy. David took the rest of these pictures and he likes this one because it is Sami's perspective of the happenings. The little boy behind her leaning on the pool is Kyler. I missed the picture opt but when we first got to the party he came up to her and acted like he was going to kiss her but instead hugged her and she hugged back. Oops good job mom on missing that cute pic. The little girl in the sunglasses is Ann Marie and she turns 2 in August. The other little boys are in the ward. One is our home teachers son, Spencer MaHaffey, and the other is I believe Ian Davidson who is the primary presidents son. I couldn't wait to eat and even went back for seconds. I guess I don't feed Daphne enough. I love this picture it is so cute. I need to copy it and frame it because it is how we are. She is telling me something and I am listening with my ever special attention. Like mom like daughter. This is after Sami threw the football in the now muddy water and right before we left.
It was a good party we were there from 12-2 and thank goodness for there shaded porch and sun screen for Sami. It was great fun. We were all pooped when we got home, and Sami slept for just about 3 hours. She was tired for sure.
I got so excited about the festivities that I came home and got right to work on the invites for her party in June. I get started early so I don't get too stressed. You gotta plan for an Abby Cadaby party!
Hope you had a great day and if anyone needs visitors for swimming or just wants to have a play date let me know we would love it!
