Reading Time

I don't know how I do it but I've managed to raise 3 kids that love books, and love to be read to. I didn't enjoy reading etc until I was an adult… so it's kind of weird and my husband doesn't read unless it's a game site or a text book.
We have a pattern at our house at night. I read to the kids and Dave puts them to bed and says prayers with them. Since I am with them all day we feel this is a good share, and I usually hit the gym at 8, as the kids are getting into bed.
Ezra loves to be apart of the reading lately. He gets right up in my face and is not satisfied just sitting next to me, he has to be front and center. Some nights he just is being a grunch and has to be taken into the other room, but on good nights he sits still and is happy!
Yep… trying to round up kids for reading time and prepping for bed and this is what Daphne does…
of course she'll pose for a picture dressed like that.

Build a Bear Daphne

Daphne was so excited to get a Build a Bear and so finally we were able to go...
She chose a puppy because she loves puppies and the stuffing began...
The girl who did it wasn't as weird as the guy who did it last time...

so excited go have her puppy... she dressed it up like Woody from Toy Story and named it Woody. she was so excited.

We even bought him boots and spurs... it was extra... so happy to finally have her build a bear!

Daphne turns 4!

Daphne had two parties. On her birthday September 23....
She went to school and so while she was gone I made her a cake, and bought her a balloon. I took a special "healthy" snack to her school which was grapes and cheese sticks.
When she got home we let her open her gifts from grandma Ransom, a snow white doll and a sweater, and than Aunt Suzies gift which was a rainbow dash pony.
the balloon held on until Saturday when I tied to the railing on our house to let parters know where the party was, and never removed it and it ripped off and blew away sometime in the night. Oh darn.
Blowing out her candles with a lot of spit....
Saturday September 28
 Had a fun
"Minnie Mouse"
party invited 7 little girls from church... everyone dressed up in pink and white tulle skirts, I made, and minnie Mouse head bands I made, and necklaces, and bracelets... it was a blast!

All standing out of the way for the piñata!
Sami whacking away... at my minnie Mouse shaped piñata I made my self with black paper and a balloon!
Ezra is not a fan of crowds, and so he spent half his time in his walker, than the other half chowing down on a cupcake... we had to use his chair for the guests. He's sporting his mickey shirt for the party!
Eating cupcakes, and drinking Cherry 7-Up!
Easiest party necklace ever... cut flowers on my cricut, threaded onto a piece of yarn with straw pieces... perfect!
Opening her gifts... she was spoiled!
Eating some M & M's she was so tired, I had to bribe her to be happy! She is sporting a Minnie Mouse Necklace she got as a gift from the owner of "Blue Eyed Beads'
Ezra clinging to mom... wanting a picture taken....
Showing off her Cinderella doll that a friend gave her... such a nice present!
Showing off another awesome gift... My Little Pony Memory game... they love it... but it's a fight... oh man is it a fight, between my two pony loving girls!

Glad it was so fun, the little girls told there parents how much fun they had and left all dressed up with some heart shaped crayons I made, minnie Mouse coloring pages, candy necklace and a few pieces from the piñata! We had a blast. As soon as it was over I crashed and then left for the broadcast... it was  a busy day, prepping for the party than the broadcast! Glad it's over... but loved doing it... I love throwing parties and all the fun things you can do. I would love to be a professional party thrower... heck I would do it for someone else! I am debating on throwing a Halloween party or a New Years Party... we shall see what I decide!

Daphne's 1st Day of School!

Ode to Daphne!

Daphne's 1st Day of school was September 11, but Just now getting the pics up!
She loves school. Her teacher is new and she loves all the little girls in her class. They say she is wonderful and has yet to get in trouble enough to have to tell me!
This girl has really been growing up and hopefully will be fully potty trained soon! She is so stubborn!
She has fun at school with her sister just right down the hall, they don't see each other at school, until at the end. I have always wanted my kids to go to school together and technically Daphne will start kindergarten in fall of 2015, so Sami will be in 3rd grade than.. but this is fun for now!
Daphne's class is mostly kids that have an IEP which is code for some kind of learning disability. Daphne's is actually pretty minor. Since she couldn't hear well for well who knows how long, she missed out on the socialization with other kids, and speech and so she is catching up and doing great so far. It's getting easier and easier to understand her and she has been sitting still a little better for things!

It's great instead of having to run her around to speech class etc she gets it all at the school for free! It's an amazing program, that they are expanding throughout all Washington. They just opened up 2 more preschool groups in our area, at the elementary schools. This is the last year where you can pay to put your child in this preschool, it is exclusively now just for kids that need extra help. Daphne goes to school Monday and Wednesday and her teacher goes to the other school in town and teaches tuesday thursday! Once again so grateful to be living in Cheney at this time so my kids can get this extra help. So by the time 2015 rolls around and we move on to the next joint, She will be in kindergarten and things will be a lot easier all around. Oh and she won't be behind. They just started all day kindergarten here, and apparently that is going to be state wide soon, I guess they are just holding kids to a higher standard, and it will help there future too because I know if I would have had these programs growing up I would have done a lot better in school. So sorry all you smart kids that never had a learning problem ever... you just gotta suffer going to all day kindergarten! In Sami's class since it's mixed with IEP students and not, when she needs extra help they just pull her out so the other kids aren't interrupted!
Sorry just voicing my feelings on this.. Some things are nice.... some are annoying! My kids were born with problems that make them different they are there challenges and they are happy normal kids, but for some reason or another school is harder so this help is great!

Preschool Day at the Fair

Daphne's school doesn't start until September 11, but for her first day of class not in the class room, September 9, it was a field trip. The parents took there families and kids and met the teachers and preschool groups from the 4 schools in the Cheney School District and met at the gate of the fair and got a free entrance. We spent the first 3 hours exploring with the teachers and other parents. There were only 3 other kids there from Daphne's class of 15 and so it was pretty nice getting to know the teacher. We saw a lot of goats...
"My Little Pony" in real life!
The biggest set of horns/antlers I have ever seen on a Steer/bull
The little goats that kept sticking there heads through the fence...
 Donkey's...
The cutest bunnies ever... this is as big as they get, that's the bunny for me!
 Daphne being a piggie!
And of course since on accident I parked at the wrong entrance she saw the rides and there was no way we were getting out of there without a couple. She rode two and that is $6 I will never see again... lame! She had fun... She rode a train too... but it wasn't a very good picture. I figured I should spoil her since she was starting school and we were sister-less. I tried to find a ride that me and Ezra could ride with her and there wasn't one! Lame!

Well we had fun, and she enjoyed the animals and meeting her new teacher Mrs. Webley. Dave will meet her teacher tomorrow!
