Labor Day Weekend...

Im kind of sad, because I just looked at my "Stats" and noticed only 4 people have looked at my blog in the last while... only one being family, well, thanks for supporting me in my online photo journal!

Well, since Dave has been so busy all summer we haven't done much with him, so we took a 3 day weekend and went to my parents cabin up in the mountains. You drive towards Yakima and take the Granger Exit and drive through Toppenish up through the mountains and 30 minutes before you hit Goldendale you take a turn off and up you go. You'd think, well I thought it would be cooler up there but of course not... it was pretty warm, and we got really dirty... but we had fun, it always surprises me. how I get more rest at home than I do on a vacation... I have redefined vacation as something that completely tires you out and makes you want to stay in bed for days after returning home...  I keep telling my husband than one of these days we are going to go on a trip just us to somewhere super relaxing...
We got there Saturday around lunch time and came home Monday around 3, so this is a span of pictures... I prided myself on how I remembered to take pictures... We went 4 wheeling Monday while Ezra was napping...
Ezra had a great time he didn't enjoy sleeping in a strange bed, and once each night woke up and Dave being the awesome husband he is sat up with him while he had some milk than got him back to sleep... there is just something about a dad's big strong cuddly arms...
Sami had fun, was so tired and worn out by the end... she had many of outbursts, it got to the point that grandpa was bribing her to not have them... She wore her old school shoes last month and I didn't try them on her before taking them up with us, but I went to put them on her and they were too small... so she was sporting the sandals with socks thing through the weekend...

Daphne... she never smiles for pictures... but she has a cute smile when she does! She is my little shadow sometimes... she loved going on walks looking for squirrels and lizards... she was a funny girl!

Ezra has learned to wave... and say the word "Bear" since grandpa collects them in his cabin... he was so fascinated!

Grandpa just loves to take the kids 4-wheeling...

They had a good 2-3 hours of cousin fun... before we had to head home...

We had black bottom cupcakes, cheesecake and ice cream and sang to all the birthdays in August and September... me and Daphne were going to be left out but I spoke up... why not just add two more to the mix... it was Brad, Olivia, Suzie, Ryder, Me and than Daphne...

Ezra is quite the cuddler and Torrie's little girl doesn't cuddle much these days she is too busy and so Aunt Torrie got some cuddle time in while Ezra was too tired to fight it and happy to oblidge
My girls never liked these swings, but he loves them...

it was fun, now we are going to be busy with school stuff and than birthdays... what a fun month!

Anniversary Weekend!

For our Anniversary weekend we were going to go to Portland to the zoo for Saturday but since other unwanted things occurred we are saving that trip for my 30th Birthday weekend.. which sadly is only in 2 months!
We instead packed up and headed to my parents cabin for Friday night to stay Saturday, since it's still a vacation even though it's only 2 hours away!
On our way we had to take a stop off in Benton City to gas up. As Dave was getting out of the car I head this odd noise and looked up to see this goat in the back of the truck crying it's little heart out. Dave turned to me and said we aren't in the city anymore. It's amazing to me at just being half hour out of town or so, it's so different. The owners were going into the gas station and I overheard them telling someone that they had just weened it. It cried for a good while! So sad. It was super cute!
We got up to the cabin about 8 at night and didn't go to sleep until about 1. Sami was so wound up, it was awful. Dave watched "Ground Hogs Day" for the first time. He enjoyed it. We also had some berry lemon cheesecake that my parents brought up. I asked my mom why she bought it and she said, "It's your anniversary isn't it" we dug into that real quick! It was pretty good! Thanks Mom! Saturday I got up at 6 and tried to get Daphne back asleep and than woke up about 7 again. I showered and than got the girls ready for the day. It was a good day. We went on a walk around there 20 some acres. They have plenty of paths already worn away, most from the 4-wheeler. We have seen deer and my parents have seen bear. These are deer tracks. Oh and notice the red dirt... yes, it's sure fun to have coated in your hair! And these are squirrel prints... rather large I thought. The squirrels up there have sure done a number on my parents stuff. They chewed threw some electrical lines in both there cars last year, and ruined a tun of stuff in there trailer, along with mice. And my dad checked out the outhouse that has been up there since they first started building, and the squirels had thrashed the place, toilet paper everywhere! It was great! The walk started with Me, Mom and Sami, and Dave was inside with Daphne. But than we were half way back when we heard this abnormally loud barking noise from behind us. It scared the crap out of me, and my mom started to get a bit panicked. The neighbors up there have dogs and so that is what she thought it was, I thought maybe some other kind of wild animal, it was such a loud noise, until Dave jumped out from behind the trees... thanks Dave! I tried to get a picture of how dirty Sami was. She had dirt all over her face, but she was moving the whole time so no such luck with that! There are also a ton of lizards up there. One summer we caught one for my sister Suzie, but put it back. These ones were sun bathing on the rocks. so cool! Me and Dave did our normal 4-wheeler ridding. I hate how pictures can't capture the true beauty of the outdoors, but look how nice, all around us. Entering into the property! Seeing my parents cabin! Mom and Sami out on the porch. There porch is the length of the house and has huge windows into the great room. You can see Mt Hood perfectly! It's amazing! I took Daphne for a walk it was great. You could tell where animals laid because there was all kind of pine needles moved and fresh dirt in places... so cool! This is the loft, where we stayed. Daphne was being really good while I got everything packed up. She is learning how to drink sippies. I love it. She grabs both handles and lifts it high above her head while she is drinking. So cute! The view of the great room from the loft. I love the colors that my parents used, so warm and inviting. I know that with them having this house, it's going to make them younger. It's great! I look forward to going up there more and more. We just gotta get the kids bed times under raps. It will also be nicer when we get a bigger vehicle that doesn't bounce so much down the road. Just to think... a piece of this property will be mine someday. Thanks parents!

Memorial Day & Other

So For our yearly Memorial Day we go up to my parents property. They were building last year and it was framed and this year it is just about done... so it was so exciting. Everyone really enjoyed themselves!
Sami playing with Grandpa on the deck that on a clear day you can see 3 tips of 3 mountains! Dave and Daphne cheesing it up for the camera A view from the deck to some family ridding on the 4-wheeler... (NaDell's Picture) A view of the house. You walk in the front door and there is a large family room that will have a pull down projector screen, than there is a garage, bathroom and a laundry area. You go up stairs and there is a large bedroom, large 2 sink bathroom with shower and tub, and great room with a rock fireplace that my mother did herself. Than there is a loft for many people to sleep... (I suggested it when they were drawing up the plans... a loft is necessary!) My mom bought this little kid fuse ball table and so that is what these two are playing with... More smiles from the peanut gallery Daphne wanting to be picked up... you can see the fireplace here... At home... I caught Daphne gnawing on the leg of this coffee table... she didn't want to be caught as you can tell by her face! I took Sami to watch the girls rehearsal for dance so that she can get a little motivated.. I think it was rather convincing... Sign her up Dad! I like this picture it makes me look thin... Me and Dave went to PF Changs... in this picture my new green shirt makes me look really fat... I am really not that fat... oh well... the camera adds 10 pounds they say! We got a gift card and went and had appetizers and a dessert... it was great... not very filling but good. Next time I am going to get the beef and broccoli this lady sitting next to me was eating it and dang it looked good.... mom we gotta go!
Well hope you guys had a great weekend... we sure did!
