New Couch... Da Da Doooo!

Of course the crazy Mason house has a lot of things to show so be prepared! And no judging here!
One night we went to put Sami into bed and this is how we found Daphne... so funny! She usually kicks the wall on the other side of her bed on the wall that we share but this night... I don't know... she is so silly!
I cleaned out the car and my purse and found my sunglasses and Sami well she hates clothes... and well she put my glasses on and started dancing around singing "Da Da Dooo" that is her silly saying and she says it all the time lately... I don't understand but usually the only time I hear it is when she puts on my sunglasses... something about it... Ok... so... our green monster of a couch is wearing out and so we decided to get a new couch. So than at Christmas time we went and looked around and found one that we loved. Well of course once we had the money this week it wasn't on sale anymore. So than Dave brought up the great concept that he wanted more seating and not just replacing, so we decided to get a love seat and buy a nicer cover (that actually stays on) for our green monster. Because in a few years we will be done with school and living with more money (hopefully) and so when that happens I really want a sectional for the family room and so those are way over our budget right now and I don't want to just get something cheap and so we got the loveseat and I will put it in a bedroom, office, or front room when we get the sectional... It is perfect... It's my favorite place to sit and the fabric is so soft. We got it at Big Lots believe it or not for $300. We were going to get one at Furniture row for $377 but had the idea to look at Big Lots first.... I like it so much better than the other one and it's so nice... We still need to put the legs on but it's great! I of course didn't like the pillows... I will recover them someday but here it is... Daphne enjoys it... Sami... enjoys it too! Ohh and Daphne started walking this week. She will walk across the room, she still crawls but walks a great deal more than crawls. I am so happy, it's so weird for us because Sami as you remember didn't walk for the longest time not until she was 22 months and so Daphne walking a week before she turns 16 mo is great for me. Sami trying to show me her mermaid night shirt but had it backwards... I swear this girl! Oh and of course right as the black eye fades she gets a rug burn.... oh well least I don't get as many questions and stares!
Hope your having a good month and not blowing away like I feel like we are going to... it's been so windy (but warm, it' 59 degrees for 9:20 at night) it's crazy... good ol Kennewick! The other night as I was laying there and trying to sleep through the wind I started thinking about weather there has been any recorded tornados here and how we would know... is there an alarm that goes off so you know... it's just all so interesting... you would assume since it's so windy it would start but I don't think those too things are combined... Hmmm I need a friend that's a tornado expert I don't think my watching of the movie "Twister" will help me all that much! Hmmm... something to think about!

Christmas prep

I have been searching high and low for something for Sami to store her Christmas gifts in, and today I finally consented... and bought this, fun plastic drawers, for $20 on sale at Target, of course, I couldn't just let it be I had to fancy it up a bit. It's amazing what a little, mod podge, stickers, scrapbook paper, and vinyl can do... I put her new doll furniture in the drawers and wrapped it up... that will be the last thing she opens Christmas morning. SO excited!
Our first official Christmas party was tonight. Dave had his last final this morning and so he had to work tonight and so I flew solo at the ward Christmas Party. They always serve the best food and so I wasn't going to miss it. Of course we had to visit Santa... Daphne, isn't as scared of strangers as Sami is, as soon as Sami saw Santa she clung to me so bad. So I picked her up, and than put Daphne on Santa's lap... it must have been that fact that she couldn't see me or the beard, but this is how our picture turned out.... awwww what can you do? My biggest thrill of the day was a friend of mine was going to lend me some quilting frames and just gave them to me i guess, well they are awesome, and they take apart and fit right back into this box. I had to finish these awesome quilts for the girls for Christmas, and I did it! They look great. I sewed the blocks together, than, tied the ties, than for my first time ever I sewed the binding... I am so proud of myself, they are a little crazy and uneven, but the girls won't mind and I am so proud of myself. Sami, of course Ariel from Little Mermaid, She picked out the tie colors, purple and blue.. Daphne picked out a Minnie Mouse doll for her birthday and so I just dragged it out... hers was tied in dark pink and dark purple... I am so happy, I also found them $4 pjs at Walmart, Sami, Mermaid, and Daphne minnie Mouse.... I couldn't have planned that any better! Well... keep checking my blog out because I have also been busy re-decorating... I have started with some little things but starting in January I am re-finishing some furniture, getting a new couch and just re-decorating my whole place... I am stoked... oh and we also got a new vaccum and it is awesome... I am in love! I never would have thought that furniture and appliances etc, would be something I wanted so badly... I am getting pots and pans for Christmas... ahh my house is going to look so great!

September Here we Come!

Daphne has been learning some new tricks lately, and one of them is pulling herself up to standing. This was her first accomplished time, and she was so proud of herself. Usually she will make it to her knees and than get stuck on her knees and than her feet will turn purple and so I always have to make sure I can catch her just at the right moment before her feet turn purple and after she has tried and failed. One afternoon Sami was taking a nap and I was cleaning the kitchen and I look over to see Daphne having the time of her life. When I first noticed it was a small enough mess I could have removed her from the situation and cleaned it up quick but it was just to funny and she was having too much fun. This is my scrap paper box. And after she was done I put her down for a nap and than organized it, and so she helped me out. It was so funny. She would pull out handfuls than toss them up over her head and than keep going... I got bored of the 4th of July decorations and so I put them away and pulled out the Halloween ones. I know I know Halloween is not for another 2 months but I got a mermaid costume and a crab costume to make and so this will get me motivated. If anyone has a good mermaid pattern let me know! My family didn't seem as excited and surprised as I was but I was cleaning up toys one night when I noticed this puzzle. I knew I didn't do it, and I asked Dave and he said no, so than I took it apart and Sami put it all back together, the culprit... can I say proud mommy moment. I finished the edges off one day and she said, I don't like it and removed them... only Ariel, Sebastian and Flounder are allowed. So cute... this girl loves Little Mermaid. She takes it apart than puts it back together, this was the first time she did this, and she earned this puzzle by peeing in the potty one day... it is rare when that happens, but non the less she gets rewarded when it does happen. GO Sami!

Spring is Here!

So one of the best parts about our apartment is that there is a lilac bush right out side our window... Lilac's are my most favorite flower and I love the smell. I open our window and just let the smell fill our house... I wish they were around all year because I would be in heaven, but than again I doubt it would be as great and wonderful, and I wouldn't appreciate it as much!
On Sunday I took Sami down and we picked some to put in a vase. Since our house is now clean meaning, no crafts cover each and every surface in our house, I was excited to fill a vase with flowers. And to show off Sami's cute new church outfit! Gotta love Target, I can dress my kids even on a small budget! I sat down to play with Daphne and she went right for Dad's PS3 controller, there is no keeping her away from those! Her daddies daughter for sure!
My hard earned redecoration. Our couch is falling apart and since I don't have the money for the micro fiber couch I want this will just have to do. It is a micro fiber couch cover that is machine washable... It has a hard time staying in place but it is so classy looking... I feel so cool! And than bought the red rug and the pillows. I love my pillows and my family is learning real fast they will never be on the ground... I did buy a grey rug but it didn't go and so I just stuck with my signature color.... it is a darker red and so it matches everything real good! And does a good job of hiding the dirt on our beige carpet! A blurry picture but the kids after a visit to the park. We have a visitor for the week. My brother and his wife took there two oldest ages 7 and 4 to Disneyland and so Vincent here (2) got to stay with us for 4 days... He is a pretty good kid, but I sure am glad i don't have 3 kids, and definitely not 3 kids this close in age! But they are letting us use there van, since we can't hold more than 4 people in our car, and it has been quite the fun thing to drive around I am going to miss being momma of the road when they come home, it's so easy to get the kids in and out of. Sami climbs right in and gets in her seat and doesn't complain and loves watching the road as we drive!
Well hope you are all having a good week and when you see mother's in the store and there kids are being out of control think about me and how tired I am this week!

New hair cut!

It's been a great week or two... or however long it's been since I posted. I got a hair cut last week or 2 weeks ago, whatever... I finally took some pictures of it... i hate taking self portraits so excuse the awkward ness coming. I made Daphne be in some with me... usually she is pretty easy going but she wasn't in the mood obviously so no smiles from her today.
My friend Sienna who lives in the same complex, and who is in my ward is a hair cutter... i know there is a more proper name for it but i can't think of it right now... sorry there is so many pictures of me on here... i won't do this again for awhile it's embarrassing. Anyone need a dresser "mirror" I got his dresser from my grandma years ago and it came with the mirror but the mirror is so large it's hard to maneuver and well i am sick of it... I love the dresser but i am selling the mirror. I have it on craigs list and 2 good to toss... i am selling for $50 but I will take $30 (from a good friend or family) if you really want it, but you have to haul, i just want to get rid of it. It is a good sturdy mirror and has a board that it's attached too. It's not connected to our dresser it's just leaning against the wall propped up on the dresser... Besides the new hair cut the obvious down sizing... we have been sick in our house these past couple weeks. Daphne seems to be on the mend, less coughing and less yucky nose. Sami got it and has a horrible cough that seems to get worse when she is playing so she loves when we make her sit and relax... what a pain. I finally got sick, I got sick Thursday and than when Sami was up all night Thursday it didn't help me much and so it just got worse... you see I can't take regular over the counter meds and so nose spray, hauls cough drops, and tylenol are my only escape. Dave took good care of me and the girls Saturday and Sunday but now he is back to work and so I am thankfully feeling a lot better. My house is a disaster area but i have an excuse right... well just the front room... i really need to get rid of some toys or put some away or something better... they are everywhere! Anyone need any toys?
Well have a good one!
