Wadding Pool!

The city wadding pool, where we schedule our days around. I am enjoying the sun and so are the girls. Most days we head over there and they play for a bit, and fight and than we come home and have snacks and watch a movie, when they usually fall asleep, so than I get an hour or two to myself to clean, or make dinner, so it's pretty nice, and we are all getting nice and bronzy looking skin, Daphne more than any of us, but it's nice. I don't take very many pictures, because I am usually wet and water and cameras of course don't mix... so here ya go!
Our basic time at the pool.
Daphne usually doesn't get very far in the water and stays on the out skirts. It is deeper in the middle than on the sides. She usually goes around stealing everyones toys, not that we don't bring our own, but seriously!
Sami spends the time floating around on her butterfly floatie. We have two, one for her and one for Daphne and of course Daphne usually doesn't play with hers so Sami gets them both or shares one with a friend.
As most of you know Dave completed his 2 year degree, well we just got his diploma and so it was pretty exciting!
Daphne the only one awake watching the movie, and eating her popcorn. She had dumped it out and was picking it all up, it was pretty cute!
Gotta love my family, they never bore me that's for sure!

All About Daphne

I didn't realize that I was only taking Daphne pictures this day, and so when I realized it I figured it's her time to shine!
We went over to my moms house to play in her kiddie pool and here we go!
I couldn't pass up these sunglasses, notice I am holding her hands down because if not they are yanked off and chewed on, but I love them!
She loved this pool. Sami has been begging me all summer to go swimming and so we went here for her but she would never get in, until right before we left... and after she pooped her pants... go figure. She was moving around the pool on her tummy for the longest time until she would see the dog (my parents Jack Russel Scooter) and than she would try and climb out of the pool while saying "Dog, dog, doggggg, dog" it's pretty silly that the only 3 words she knows are mom, dad, and dog... it's awful cute too! She wanted that dog so bad, but we know she would pull his hair out and make him mad, so he was kept away! I know this is an x-rated picture but I don't care... babies nakedness is super cute especially when it's un-wanted nakedness which this is. You see she is high tailing her way back into the bathroom to get back in the the tub with her sister, her favorite place. If you haven't guessed it from the pool pictures, this girl loves being in the water. I had grabbed her out of the tub and was laying her down to put her diaper on when she kept flipping right over and crawling away to get back to the tub. So of course I had to snap a picture.
Well happy 11 months old Monday the 23rd Daphne. Wow... I can't believe she is almost 1 and still has hardly any hair!
Things for us have improved slightly, Dave got a job at GNC out off Queensgate, and so that is something. It's just part time so perfect for schooling. It doesn't pay more than minimum wage but such is life, waiting for unemployment to kick in would put us out of house and home. It's ridiculous. He is waiting to hear from a internship, well it might be a long ways off but it would be perfect, he has applied other places too... he worked for GNC years ago before we got married and was a manager of the store on Kenn. Ave. (I think) well, he doesn't want to be manager he just wants to go to school and work part time.
It's actually been a blessing having him off those 2 weeks because I got super sick and had absolutely no energy. I watched a lot of Gilmore Girls and read a book, and did some word searches and that was about it. After a couple of doctors apts and some blood work, I found out I have IBS, I am glad there was a reason for how uncomfortable and sick I was, and exhausted. Well my doctor put me on some medicine and so things will start to get better with that soon, although one of the side effects is insomnia... so that might explain the fact that it's 12:30 am and I am still up... or the fact that I slept in til 9 this morning... oh well must go read my book now and go to sleep.

Here we Go AGAIN!

Today was a good day, a nice break in the storm. Me and the girls took a break from our 'family stress' and went swimming at my little sister's n-laws house. It was great. (Sorry Torrie I tried to cut you out)
Daphne loved it so much. She just kept splashing and playing and getting her face sopping wet. Sami has been begging to go swimming since that one day I took her. We got in and she freaked out and kept screaming so we plopped her on here and she seemed to do well until I tried to move her around a bit and tossed her in... I quickly grabbed her out... that was a tiny bit scary.
You may ask what I mean by 'family stress' well I have been trying to keep it a secret but decided that eventually the truth will come out, because people are not dumb they will figure it out, and so since dear family and friends who are concerned with our life read this blog here goes...
Here we go AGAIN!
Since me and Dave have been married in the 4 years since (since July 2006) he has held...
5 jobs...
Out of those 5 jobs...
4 of them have let him go because they just weren't doing well...
you may ask which of the 5 jobs well...
the first job was CompUSA in Orem. Utah. Dave worked there for 3 or 4 years I don't know how long and a year of that was our first year of marriage. Just after Christmas time there was talk of the company going bankrupt so we decided either stay and get screwed or leave while we can. So 2 weeks after Sami was born we moved to Kennewick. A few months later the company was gone and all the stores were close they declared Bankruptcy.
To get us to Kennewick Dave needed a job so that brings us to job #2 Lens Crafters. His best bud Jeremiah Price works there in the lab and got him into it. They as you know are still in business. Dave however lasted there for a few months before he admitted he wasn't cut out for selling someone a $500 + pair of glasses when they could do the job with a $50 pair of glasses... fashion is not his thing...
He quit there and went to work for Western Tool Supply job #3. They lasted for about a year when they went bankrupt and closed because well they sold building tools and why buy from them what you can get at Lowes, Home Depot etc...
Than he got on a job with Agrowmax. job #4. They are actually still running but Dave worked there about a year when it was the down season and there up season is spring and summer and slightly fall. The schedule didn't work well with school so he knew he should take his time and find a new job. His last day there was the 31 of December.
Than job #5... Campbell & Company. He got hired there January 3 2010 and got laid off Monday August 9 2010 not enough business coming in to sustain several employees.
So know you see where we are at and how hard our life has been. Having been old pro's at this 4 jobs down.... well our faith is still there, Dave's stronger than mine, and we are plugging away. We look at our bills diminish the non necessity's and tighten up on the budget as much as we can. And see what comes next.
I can't tell you as of now what is going to happen. We are still here... so far the plan is to try and get enrolled in full time school and work a part time job. He is currently signed up for 3/4 time school and so if he can he will add a 3rd class. If he can add this specific class than he will be a 2 year degree graduate in December 2010. SO an AA. YEEHAW!!!! We will take out loans and than continue on through school at a full time pace and if everything goes as planned than he will graduate with a BA from WSU Tri-Cities in December 2012... bigger YEEHAW!!!
there is a light at the end of the tunnel I can smell the new carpet and paint in my new house... it is there I can see it... a new house that has room to spread out, a yard for the kids to play in, a place to put a brand new sofa... a garage to store stuff... maybe even a craft room... but yes these are pipe dreams first things first... job with said degree in Computer programming etc... whatever it's called, and well money to spend on said dreams.... it will happen someday I will make that wonderful post where I show and brag about my new house... not a cramp-y apartment....
but yes that is what is going on with us...
Thanks to those of you who have given there condolences and for your prayers on behalf of us, we are doing everything in our power to do what is asked of us by our Heavenly Father and so we know we will be fine. All those other times we were fine. We are firm believers that if you do as you are asked you will be blessed... hence the reason we have 2 kids... and tell you what even after 4 years of all this... I wouldn't trade a minute of it, because when you go through stuff like this, it sure as heck makes you stronger!
(if anyone is wondering, and I have had people ask, we are fine, we really don't need anything, just love support and a job lead)

Fun In the Sun

Tuesday we went and visited my good friend Rachel and her kids, and Rachel showed me her player piano. I have never seen one that worked, it was the coolest thing!
Each song has it's separate scroll and it has holes punched in it that play the song... it's pretty cool! Her mom plays the drums and so Sami got on and tried it out... she is a little natural! I got Watermelon for us to eat for dinner one day, and we gave some to Daphne to try out. She sucks the juice out and spits it back out... but this particular piece she was saving for something... Sami has chap stick... can you tell she loves to put it on! For some reason she was eating her tortilla like this... it was pretty funny! Happy oreo girl! I got oreos to get Sami as a reward for sitting on the potty and whenever I give her one, if Daphne sees it, than she of course has to have one as well. It's pretty funny! Wednesday my friend Kim was in town. She came over the weekend, Tuesday we had a girls night and got ice cream and went shopping, but Wednesday the girls all played together. Daphne loved the pool and splashing, she couldn't get enough. We got a baby pool out and filled it up with about 2 in of water and let it warm up for a bit than let Daphne have it all to her self... she loved it! Sami kept dipping her head into the pool... I did that all the time when I was younger! We didn't get enough sleep last night... naps will be necessary for all today, but we get a little silly when that doesn't happen! Daphne is constantly pulling her hair... it's awful!
We are taking a day off from out doors today because we just got too warn out! Enjoy and drink lot of liquid... Dave got dehydrated yesterday... so be careful!

Life.... in February

It's been quite the month, and I can't believe it will be over soon. March is a fun month of course, with all the birthdays in our family, I better start planning now. If I can plan it out we will have no babies born in March!
Sami lately has taken up to sleeping on the couch. I don't know what it is about her bed that scares her. After I got rid of the tissue paper ball that hung from the ceiling that she was terrified of (go figure I got it from a baby shower was planning on making more for there ceiling) I thought she'd be ok. Some mornings if I don't latch there door all the way I come out to find her asleep on the couch (good thing she can't unlock doors, or who know where she'd be). This is actually in the evening, it was a no nap day so this is what happens! Daphne cut her first tooth. She is 5 months on the 23, so yes this is quite early. I have friends that babies are almost a year and have not cut any teeth. She cut the one and than the next day i was writing it down in her baby book when I realized she cut two, right next to eachother. I compared her and Sami's teeth cutting ages, and they are definitely sisters. Cut the same two teeth, at the same age. It hasn't started being a problem with the whole nursing thing but I know as those little blades come in all the way, they will be a problem and she will learn just like her sister did and life will be good again.
Besides the teeth she is doing great, she loves to pinch us, and I can't tell you how painful that is, but she is well, for the first time since she was born, she is well. I say this as I hear about huge RSV breakouts in the area, but I pray she will stay well! Dave loves his new job, here he is on his lunch break. He works for Campbell & Company, (the former Campbell & Bruce, it's a sensitive subject apparently). It's great. He is going to look into a promotion and try to advance in the company, we shall see. He was complaining that we don't have enough pictures of Daphne so that lunch we took a ton, since that was when Sami was napping on the couch. Back when I was prego with Daphne, my friends threw me a baby shower and a game they played was guess the baby food, so I got a few jars from it. So i decided hey, since she has teeth than we need to try food. She only enjoyed a bite. Sami (and me) ate the rest. It was apricots. Come to find out that night Daphne started having a horrible runny nose and red, watering eyes. After a day or two it passed. I am pretty sure she is allergic to apricots... we will see after next month when she is 6 mo and can officially start eating baby food! Those dang teeth! So earlier this week I open the blinds and this is what I see. I go shower come back out and this is what I see. Can you tell why the ducks like this pool... it looks the color of a pond, but sadly there was no food in there (maybe some algae) I don't know why they don't cover it during the winter but disgusting! Here is Sami and Flounder watching the ducks... Daphne, I am determined is going to crawl and walk before Sami did... so any time she can hack it she is on her tummy! Sami testing out the cupboard we got from grandma... she fit in it just fine!
hope your month is going well, so far so good for us, knock on wood. Apparently the curses that I thought I was going to have this year turning 30, after last month, have gone away!
