New Years!

The week after Christmas was quite the memorable one… we got home on Thursday, from Christmas, Dave worked Friday and came home early because he was sick… he stayed in bed the rest of Friday and all day Saturday… I woke up in the middle of the night and I was so sick… and so than I was in bed for the next two days… finally on tuesday new years Eve I pulled myself out of bed and we decided to have fun as a family.
We went somewhere as a family than came home and I napped than we ordered pizza from Pizza Hut and rented Planes from red box and had a party… at 8 pm we celebrated the new year when the movie was over. The kids were in bed by 8:30, and me and Dave were in bed asleep by 10. I look forward to when my kids are older and us staying up late… being silly. We played a couple games, and make cake pops and had sundaes… it was exciting but I was so sick. Apparently it went through my entire family and half of Spokane.. brochitus, sinus infection… it was horrid… I was so cold. I was so glad my mom gave me some new body wash because I took a bath with it every day to warm up. I lost my voice and it took me a good week and  half to get it fully back. I still at times start coughing and it's just so nasty… It was awful. I am sorry to anyone who also had this flu… I was mad because i was just sick before thanksgiving… hopefully I will be well now for awhile!
I bought one of those New Years kits from Walmart…

Daphne had a blast with the streamers…

Ezra was in bed and I was so tired!

New Year!

Well after Dave being off for 2 weeks from work, he had to work on New Years Eve, so me and the girls just hung out. I started my first project of the year, organizing all my craft magazine rip outs. ( I get all sorts of magazines from well you name it, and when I get them I thumb through and what I see is interesting I rip it out and save it, than I file it away in a binder for later reference). So when lunch time rolled around and our table was not available I decided we were having a picnic, the girls loved it.
Here we are eating our cheesy noodles aka macaroni and cheese.
Daphne felt like cuddling ...
Sami wanted a close picture...
After lunch I decided to prepare the house for Sunday and vacuumed our front room, a daily task. Before we left for Christmas our vacuum stopped working, so we figured, it was on it last leg, and that we would have to invest in a new one after the start of the year. We told my brother and they have a fancy Dyson but still had there old vacuum and so they gave it to us. So when Dave vacuumed when we got home on Friday I told him to try our vacuum to just make sure. It worked fine. Than when I pulled it out it worked fine until I had to vacuum behind the couch and than it wasn't doing crap. So I pulled out the back up and that didn't do much better. Than I tried vacuuming out the couch and the hose on the backup wouldn't work and well i tried our vacuum and discovered after closely looking at the hose that there was a huge clog. I got it un clogged to find the culprit a Mr. Potato Head arm. So i put it back together and now it works like a charm. Awesome!
Dave got home at 5 or so and I made some yummy bread with sauce and chicken kind of like spaghetti but instead of spaghetti you bake it all with a Flesichmans bread mix. It was good. I wasn't feeling well though. Than I had to leave at 9 to go help at the YW/YM party at the church and so before the girls went to bed we busted out our s'more maker that my mother in law gave us for Christmas. It was a blast.
The girls didn't get it, we got to use it more...
Dave said he would roast his own, he said he had a special way to doing it, which included burning it! oh well. It was fun, Now I just need a fondue maker and I will be very happy!
On New Years, well they switched our church to 9 and so we decided we would wake up at 7 and so that would give us 2 hours to get ready. The girls bathe on Saturday and so do I and so just Dave had to bathe. Well the girls woke up at 4 and took a while to get them back to bed, So when I woke up from a dream and saw the clock said 7:42 am and realized the girls were still asleep we jumped out of bed and rushed. We made it to church on time. I had the girls wear matching outfits. I lost Daphne's tights somewhere, drives me crazy. But they had white shirts that they got to go with there new grandma dresses, and there pink skirts and some princess necklaces I bought them. I wore my new dress my mom bought me a grey maternity dress and I even tried wearing it with black tights. I didn't think grey and black tights went together but it seemed to not scare anyone so it's good besides tights are so much warmer than nylons.
Well Hope you Had a Happy New Year. We are enjoying our last week of fun before Dave and Sami start school on Monday. I see the doctor this week and hopefully she will schedule my ultra sound for this week or next... crossing my fingers. Than the real fun begins!

2012 Resolutions...

Instead of just posting my list of Resolutions I decided I am also going to put a list of things I want to happen!
Resolutions:
- get Sami's scrapbook and the family scrapbook caught up
- teach Sami to read 10 words by the end of the year (she starts kindergarten in August so this is somewhat feasible)
-teach Daphne to go potty in the potty (not starting until Summer)
-teach Daphne her numbers 1-10, letters, shapes and colors
-repaint the furniture I have been planing on repainting for years
-after baby is born loose pregnancy weight before year is up, or at least just eat better and be diligent about working out
-send birthday cards/ gifts to everyone on mine and Dave's family (immediate) this year,
on time
-don't buy or check out library books until finish all the books I have in my possession that need to be read
-make my bed everyday, or every other
-fix my hair every day that I feel well, don't be lazy about it
-do dishes everyday (easier said than done, I have to do them by hand)
-be more patient with kids
-take more pictures (shouldn't be a problem after baby comes, it will be fun than)
-figure out a way to get rid of the stale musty smokey smell in our current apartment
Things I want to happen:
-find out what this baby is
-move in march to a 3 bedroom with a washer and dryer hook up and get our washer and dryer back
-have baby in May, not in June...
-get a new couch so our family will have places to sit, we all don't fit on our tiny love seat
-use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do with out
-de-clutter
-learn more about sewing, and learn how to crochet or knit or both
-go to the Oregon Coast this summer during Dave's school break, it will have been 2 years

New Years!

I know so your thinking... what? Who's this little boy... where did he come from? Well nope he's not mine... i wish he was but he's not... but he is the cutest little boy ever and so I had to post a picture of him, that and he spent New Years Eve at my house with his family. His name is Jack. And he loves to eat just like Daphne!
We invited our good friends the Richmonds over for pizza and games on New Years Eve since well I love to host and we didn't want to go anywhere. It was a blast. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. We had Papa Murphy's and pop, sparkling cider and Chantelle made the best oreo truffles in the world... I need the reciepe... it was the best night we got to do it again. Since me and Dave have been married our relationship with other couples is maybe a once a month thing but after tonight we decided it might have to happen more often... thanks for coming Richmonds, we hope you had as good of a time as we did! Here's Sami and Mariska they are about hmm... 9 mo or so apart Mariska just turned 4 but they are pretty good friends. Sami is always asking to go play at her house... they have a good time together. Mariska you can tell is older because she isn't as crazy as Sami. Here they are sharing a pillow... and watching... hmmm... "Up" I think or "Cinderella" I forget... they had a good time though. Something was obviously funny to Daphne! See isn't he a cutie... He was totally walking... he just wasn't giving up... January 2nd... about to leave for church. We had some extra time, (until we got ready to leave) since our church switched to 11 instead of 9. So I decided to snap the girls in there matching dresses. I got these during the fall and since they are made of sweater material I decided add long sleeves and make them last... so cute! I love there tights! My big sunbeam... I can't believe she is a sunbeam... (she's the only one not completely potty trained but we are working on it believe you me) The girl of many faces. One night during scripture reading I was watching her and she would pull a face and I would pull the same back and so on and so on... she is the girl of many faces I am impressed by her every day... the reason for not being potty trained well I just don't get it she is so dang smart at everything else... whatever I guess! I'm beginning to realize it's more my issue than hers... oh well she's the first child! After a scolding a cute grown up picture! She did great in Sunbeams she sat with her class and listened and sang I did have to get after her a couple of times but I think she is going to do great. I took her to the church book store and got her a scripture case and her own Book of Mormon and a book mark with a red pencil attached to it... she reads with us every night and I tell her two words at a time and she repeats them to me and she does one verse... it is really helping her pronunciation I can tell! My cute Daphne... wow Every day I am impressed by my daughters either by there ability to drive me completely bonkers a minute before there Dad walks in the door from work, or there ability to blow me away with there understanding of how things work. Daphne is learning so much these days. She will walk across the room and she hates being on her knees she scales every wall if she can and she will scale furniture to get to where she wants to go even if it makes the trip longer... she has learned how to turn around and get off couches and stuff and tonight she told me what she wanted and communicated with me in a way I didn't know she knew how to... she is impressive and growing so fast. Before I know it she will be my big 2 year old and talking a whole lot... wow! Where did the time go?
We hope you had a Happy New Years and that your year has started out well. Ours has been good so far... well ask me after my next post which will hopefully be the day I post pictures of my new couch... YEAH!!!!! My first piece of brand new furniture!
Other news... Dave started school and so between that and work we never see him. I have discovered Zumba for Wii and it's awesome... I sweat so much it's great... I can totally tell it works great... it's so crazy and so fun at the same time... who says you need a gym membership... I borrowed my moms game and have convinced my husband to buy me my own... so I am excited to shake the pounds off. If you haven't tried it try it. If you like mambo or salsa or morenga... you will love this.. it's great! My legs, hips, mid section get such a work out... there is even some shimming... it's awesome!
Have a good One!
