Gobble Gobble Gobble!

"There's a big fat Turkey down on Grandpa's farm, and he struts around all day, you can hear him holler when he makes that noise in his most annoying way"

As is norm we went to my parents house for Thanksgiving….
I took the kids out side for 5 min at a time to take there pictures… Daphne thinks it's part of smiling to tilt her head! My beautiful girls… they let me curl there hair and they walked around the rest of the day telling everyone how pretty they are… of course there pretty there my daughters!
Would have been a great picture except the house coming out of his head…
 I love this one…
 loosing patients with mom!
he is being naughty and is objecting…
An attempt at a family photo…. not my favorite!
I am smiling too much… but everyone is looking!
Had dessert at Barbs and the girls had the chance to feed the birds, by putting food in the bird feeders

Dave his mom, and his one and only brother Brent…

 add in a cute Ezra….
 Being a turkey!

Shot with mom… I sure wish my eyes wouldn't disappear when I smiled! It's his fault he makes me so happy I love this little boy!

Family Picture Time!

Every Thanksgiving we take a family photo and it's the one we send out in our Christmas cards, for the past 3 years we have sat on a bench in my parents yard, the same bench, and well since every where is covered with snow and it's freezing outside we opted for my parents nice clean fireplace... and thought it looked great, which is does.
I am working on putting some current family photos on the wall and ... you can tell why we are so perfect for each other, we both have eyes that disappear when we smile. Attempt at getting a sister shot... This is so funny. I don't know what I am doing... much better.. lately she does this when I try and get a cute picture of her... Before we headed over for lunch... we were all suited up... don't you just love her new zebra boots. so cute... I love her little uggs... I swear I didn't do a thing to her hair, and it's perfect... there is hope for her hair yet...

Terrible Two's Here We Come!

Goodness me!
Well we have decided as of today that our daughter has officially started the terrible two's. We went out on monday to McDonald's and we always go out to eat at fast food on Mondays because that is Dave's day off but when we went she wanted a fry and ketchup and so she did that for a bit than just continued just dipping her finger in and sucking the ketchup off, I should have just let her do whatever and figure as I always do, I would feed her more later, but instead I was trying to be a good mom and so I took the ketchup away from her and she of course got mad and than I gave it back trying to fix the situation but that just wouldn't do and she pushed all the fries off the counter and starting throwing a fit.
Than tonight Dave was home sick with stress from his "HELL" government class and needed a day to relax to get his stomach to calm down, (we thought he had the flu but turns out that is just stress and we are looking forward to Dec 10 when CBC quarter is over) well, he wanted to do something as a family and so we decided to go to Dairy Queen and get ice cream, well, usually we just give her bites of our stuff but nope didn't work, she wanted her own, so I got her a spoon, and a cup and put a bit of ice cream in it, she didn't want to eat the ice cream she wanted to smear it all over the counter and play in it, so than when she was done, she threw the cup clear behind her (luckily no one was there) and ice cream went everywhere.... so we have an independent on our hands.
Sunday for lunch we had macaroni and cheese and so I have been trying to be a better mother and teach her new things and so I gave her some in a plastic bowl with a plastic spoon (also wanting her to eat more) but she ate it and never threw anything off her tray. But than I decided that maybe for dinner that night at my mom's I would do the same thing, well sorry again Dad for the fruit salad stains on your shirt he was the target of the evening as was I in dodging throwing of fruit salad. Earlier that morning we were getting ready for church and David was drawing and Sami wanted to draw of course (go figure her father's daughter) and he wouldn't let her have his paper or pen and so she hit him a few times, I punished her and sit her on a chair in the kitchen facing the wall away from us, so we wouldn't have to see her just hear her and I told her to stay there she was being punished and that we don't hit, (I just figured she would get down off the chair since she knows how to do that and that I was just talking for fun,) but she understood me and sat there for about 3 min and I picked her up and explained to her why we don't hit etc...
I guess I need to do a lot more reading and learning on how to understand a two year old.
Other news in our family.... some good I guess
I teach piano to 3 students and one of them is a 5 year old and she has a little sister and so when she comes for piano the little sister and mom sit and listen, well the mom is done having children and so she gave us bags and bags of clothes and shoes etc.... so I spent the better part of yesterday and today washing and organizing and sorting the many clothes that Sami now has, and now have a box full of clothes that have stains, or I'm not fond of etc... so I am going to be heading to "Children's Attic" here soon to see if they will give me some credit or something for the good stuff, it's not bad I just have different tastes as a lot of mother's do, but Sami's set for next year.... I won't have to buy to much other than socks.
I haven't been feeling well and so I had an apt Monday to talk to my doctor about my thyroid and to get Sami's flu shot. (She did perfect, didn't cry nothing, just slept 12 hours that night) Well, my doctor didn't suspect that my thyroid was off, but boy was it. I have been either a 70 or 75 dosage since my first one which was 100 back in 2002 when I was first diagnosed but now I am back up, something crazy's going on with my body. I have been really moody and irritable and bump on a log the past few weeks so it makes me feel better that there was a reason for it. Your thyroid for those of you who don't understand what it does, controls everything in your body basically, if your thyroid is off, you can gain weight, sleep all day, have dry skin, be really cold, be depressed have bags under your eyes and the list goes on and on, so as you can see, it's hard to realize all that is actually going on until you learn about the disease. Most doctor's don't test your thyroid if you come in with the symptoms I have listed, they will give you anti-depressant before testing your thyroid and tell you to go on a diet etc, so it's a specialist that usually will diagnose you.
Since I have had the problem I have met a lot of people that have it, people in my family etc. They say it's hereditary and so my mom is guessing I got it from my grandma Ransom because she had breast cancer, and back than thyroid problems weren't common, and breast cancer is connected to it, so yeah, exciting stuff. So yes, if you women out there feel strange symptoms like I suggested or even completely the opposite research it, or call me because more and more, woman are getting diagnosed with it. One of my good friends just recently found out she had it.
I got mono because I had it. I had gotten diagnosed with thyroid disease and than got sick and had horrible headaches and so I took advil, well you can't take aspirin of any kind when you have thyroid disease, so my immune system dropped and I caught full on mono, good thing I had a good doctor because within 2 weeks she had me feeling great. It sucks sometimes, I loved NyQuil when I had a cold because it just knocked me out, but now I can't take it. You read on the back of most over the counter medicine it will say "Consult a doctor before take this if you have..." thyroid disease is one of them.
Well I hope everyone is getting excited for Thanksgiving!
