Mother's Day

So I love getting gifts and I prefer to be surprised because I think it's ultra sweet when my husband thinks of something on his own, it's so cute but this time around he didn't really want to do that. So we were talking about it days before Mother's Day and so I told him what ever he wanted to get me, and he said well give me some suggestions. Well... our mixer broke and so I told him a new one would be nice, and he could get me a book to do jewelry since that's my new thing, and well he said I've got an idea for the other one. Also as one of my gifts I bought and made my new dress and the girls matching skirts... it was great.
Daphne is our little eater and so we put her in the highchair and put some crackers down or some puffs and so she just eats and eats. Most of them end up in her chair because she picks them up with her chubby little fingers and can't figure out how to get them in her mouth half the time... but it's super cute. Sami loves eating the puffs too... she loves taking them away from her sister but usually Daphne thinks Sami standing there is funny... she plays peek a boo with her, and so it is good and bad! I don't know what I am doing but... this is the only full length picture of my dress. It is short sleeved. I wanted more color and so I am wearing this sweater, it's always cold in our building too... especially the Relief Society room. No matter where i sit I am always in direct line of the air... it's awful! Me and my girls.... notice... Daphne has her fingers wrapped in Sami's hair... (I didn't notice) Now... Sami is mad, and I am thinking... what the heck... just pose for the dang picture... Me and Daphne... with a very happy face... you can't see the hand full (literally) of Sami's hair in her hand... After we were done with the picture and Dave was comforting Sami I grabbed Daphne's hand and saw a lot of hair... it's so bad.... Poor Sami... it reminds me sometimes of Charlie's Angels and how the creepy thin man always pulls hair... yeah... hopefully as Daphne gets older she will stop doing that... Sami has such beautiful long blonde curly hair and Daphne loves to yank it out! How much can you punish a 7 mo old? Actually she will be 8 mo on the 23rd... I just tell her no... we don't pull hair... and have to hold her hands together... she thinks it's funny, she thinks everything is funny. Unless it's night time and she wants to just eat and not be put in her pjs!
My parents were out of town and so after church we took family naps and than it was 4 when we woke up, it was so nice outside I told Dave we needed to go on a walk. Daphne had fun! Sami had just woken up, and she didn't like the rocks in her sandals... she kept saying something that sounded like green... maybe swing, but she wouldn't so we didn't stay long!
I hope you all had a great Mother's Day. I also got an adaptor for my Ipod that plugs into the wall and so I just plug it into that and it is constantly charging it and so I don't have to plug it into the computer to charge. I have been wanting one of those fancy base's that you set it in, but Dave is against those... he has done studies and the sound quality is horrible and so he has it hooked up to a bass speaker and two computer speakers... it works just great for us! I love it... I can hear it all over my house! My husband is so good to me.
I made pasta shells and salad and black bottom cupcakes and so we had our neighbors over for dinner the Meyers and it was fun, it makes me feel good our house is at least big enough for that! It was a good day... Kinda bummed they didn't hand out treats in sacrament meeting but the chocolate covered strawberries in Relief Society made up for it!

We Silly Girls!

Daphne has been doing all kinds of new stuff lately and it's so awesome. She can roll over from her back to her stomach and than she pushes up on her hands and scoots round in circles, backwards, or just rolls to get to something she wants. She sidles up on Sami before Sami knows and often it causes problems... she eats and than she plays and well falls asleep mid play sometimes...
She was laying on that blanket... but I like how she pulled some of the blanket to put under her head! When she woke up she had carpet/blanket print on her face and was really unhappy that she fell asleep on her face! She has been eating so much. We give her things with discretion and usually when we are sitting right there to keep an eye on her. I was sewing the other night and she wanted attention so I put her in a chair and gave her an Oreo, so I could finish my project... she enjoyed it as you can tell! I don't know what it is about my girls loving Oreo's I like them but would rather have a chocolate cookie minus the cream! This weather has kept everyone in side and so finally we decided to get out. My 2nd cousin Rachel and her kids came over and we walked to a near by park. Her son Kyler is a month older than Sami, and her daughter Chelsea, is a month younger than Daphne, so we have fun times! the girls learning how to get along! Sami in jail slide shot using her ninja skills hanging... more hanging When I was younger I used to play on monkey bars a lot and hang upside down... so I tried it again... my knees are very sore today! Collecting pine cones! chillin... ? You spin me right round baby right round.... After seeing this picture I decided I need to 2, spend a lot more time with Jillian Michaels, and get a hair cut... seriously... it's taking flight here!

Easter Egg Hunt

So, we are a family that always makes sure we have our camera near and charged because you never know when your going to catch the perfect moment, and lately we have been having some good ones, and so Get Ready... Get Set... Go!
My girls being sweet to one another ... Daphne holding her mouth open... waiting for food... it's what she does best! You know when she is in a good mood when her mouth is open! She has so much happiness that's all she can do to express it! Sami, playing mommy as a jungle gym... which mommy loves, can't you tell! Getting ready to go out to the Easter egg hunt... Sami's thoughts.. "So I actually get to hold this, and go put stuff in it!"
"Ok, so I thought we were going, I'm all set, what are we waiting, for, don't you know by now I don't have patience" Getting Daphne all ready to go out, she is one big chunk and so holding her is tiring...
Sara's thoughts: " how the heck do I buckle this up?" "Oh, that's how it goes" "We are all set, this hides my fat belly but not my fat thighs" "Ok, seriously Dave, lets go, she is heavy" We picked a small piece of the yard that was behind our building. We were supposed to go to a egg hunt a couple of weeks ago but with Dave studying I wasn't up for the challenge of the girls and so I did what I do best and was a home body that night, but you gotta admit when I want to do something I put some good effort into it. We set it up to do the hunt with Sami's friend Teagan who's parents are in our ward, and than we also invited the Torrese's... that live down stairs from us. They have a 4 and 2 year old little boy and than a new born baby and so we had 4 kids searching, it was great, I made up the eggs... each kid got about 10 eggs each plus 2 special eggs with money in them. It was a windy success. Sami, freezing, she didn't want to wear her shoes and so she pays the consequence I would have been forceful if I thought she was going to be this cold, we weren't out there longer than a half hour! I'm praying the kids don't get sick! In the far distance our group of egg hunters, it was a great evening and we have made plans to get together next month for a bbque. Juan Torres has a nice phat bbquer and so that will be great. They both have floor balconies we don't so we just enjoy there's with them! After the egg hunt I went to my mom's to finish my chores... I'll explain more in a minute... and when i got home Dave told me all about Daphne and her teething biscuits. She loves them, and since we feed her until she should be full and she still wants more we give her those. I will be honest when we got them for Sami, she didn't like them but she didn't really get a chance because Dave would eat them... I got a different kind this time, that doesn't taste like cinnamon!
Well I had a scary experience today. I needed to go over to my mom's to clean her house it's my side job, and so I used the stroller. I have been walking to my moms off and on with the girls since it started warming up, it's great exercise and the girls love the ride, they enjoy it more when it's not windy of course. Well, I was walking down the main road that goes from my place to my parents place when I was walking in front of some houses and a car pulls up next to me. I glance over my shoulder and am immediately startled, I just assume they are parking and getting out to go in the house and so I start walking a little faster to get out of there way when they don't park and they move forward to keep even with me. I notice than that there are two guys in this car with tinted windows and so I whip my phone out and phone my sister who was meeting me at my mom's, that was when they pulled away. They round the block and came back through going on the across street. I was 100 yards away from them as they were stopped at a stopped sign, and I stopped dead in my tracks and pulled my phone out again.
My husband came to meet me at my moms to see the girls on there lunch break and I told him and he ended up packing the stroller and taking us home, and we decided I will not be going on walks by myself anymore. I would like to think on the positive side and think, well they were just testing something out on there brand new car, that had the paper license plate in the tinted window, and that they weren't thinking anything about us, or that they had the wrong house but since I am a "What if thinker" I automatically put my guard up and assume the worst. I am a mother with two kids, walking by myself down a main road that gets traveled but with two guys I am no match. It's sad to think in this day and age we can't just go on walks with our kids... with out thinking someone is going to snatch us, or that we can't go to the park with out having to keep a constant eye on our kid if there are a lot of kids and parents around with no kids... My sister told me that I am living right (which I am) and I am being obedient and so that heavenly father will protect me, but I am reminded of something I read recently that said that, he will protect you when you are putting yourself in the right situations. But when you openly choose to put yourself in harmful situations there is only so much he can do. I knew better than to walk by myself but at the same time, "A life lived in fear, is a life half lived" If I sit home and worry and worry there is a lot that could happen to me and my family, but worrying bout it as my husband always tells me," doesn't help anything". I think in this situation I learned that it's not safe for me to do that and it's not necessary, there are a lot of places I can go on walks that are safer and that I won't put my family in harms way. I am going to listen to my instincts and pick those places rather than the other. The way is always provided ... with out a doubt, it's always provided.
So all you mothers out there get a walking partner and carry keys... they are a great weapon and of course your phone! Be careful if you are listening to your ipod because you just might not hear someone next to you!

Life.... in February

It's been quite the month, and I can't believe it will be over soon. March is a fun month of course, with all the birthdays in our family, I better start planning now. If I can plan it out we will have no babies born in March!
Sami lately has taken up to sleeping on the couch. I don't know what it is about her bed that scares her. After I got rid of the tissue paper ball that hung from the ceiling that she was terrified of (go figure I got it from a baby shower was planning on making more for there ceiling) I thought she'd be ok. Some mornings if I don't latch there door all the way I come out to find her asleep on the couch (good thing she can't unlock doors, or who know where she'd be). This is actually in the evening, it was a no nap day so this is what happens! Daphne cut her first tooth. She is 5 months on the 23, so yes this is quite early. I have friends that babies are almost a year and have not cut any teeth. She cut the one and than the next day i was writing it down in her baby book when I realized she cut two, right next to eachother. I compared her and Sami's teeth cutting ages, and they are definitely sisters. Cut the same two teeth, at the same age. It hasn't started being a problem with the whole nursing thing but I know as those little blades come in all the way, they will be a problem and she will learn just like her sister did and life will be good again.
Besides the teeth she is doing great, she loves to pinch us, and I can't tell you how painful that is, but she is well, for the first time since she was born, she is well. I say this as I hear about huge RSV breakouts in the area, but I pray she will stay well! Dave loves his new job, here he is on his lunch break. He works for Campbell & Company, (the former Campbell & Bruce, it's a sensitive subject apparently). It's great. He is going to look into a promotion and try to advance in the company, we shall see. He was complaining that we don't have enough pictures of Daphne so that lunch we took a ton, since that was when Sami was napping on the couch. Back when I was prego with Daphne, my friends threw me a baby shower and a game they played was guess the baby food, so I got a few jars from it. So i decided hey, since she has teeth than we need to try food. She only enjoyed a bite. Sami (and me) ate the rest. It was apricots. Come to find out that night Daphne started having a horrible runny nose and red, watering eyes. After a day or two it passed. I am pretty sure she is allergic to apricots... we will see after next month when she is 6 mo and can officially start eating baby food! Those dang teeth! So earlier this week I open the blinds and this is what I see. I go shower come back out and this is what I see. Can you tell why the ducks like this pool... it looks the color of a pond, but sadly there was no food in there (maybe some algae) I don't know why they don't cover it during the winter but disgusting! Here is Sami and Flounder watching the ducks... Daphne, I am determined is going to crawl and walk before Sami did... so any time she can hack it she is on her tummy! Sami testing out the cupboard we got from grandma... she fit in it just fine!
hope your month is going well, so far so good for us, knock on wood. Apparently the curses that I thought I was going to have this year turning 30, after last month, have gone away!
