May Fest & egg dyeing!

My parents came up for a quick day visit… Sami had her first and only field trip and so she missed out on most of there visit but still had a good time with them when she got home.
We had some time to kill between school being done, and May Fest and so we watched Frozen.
Grandma and Grandpa had never seen it and they sure enjoyed watching it with Sami… telling them everything that was going to happen before it happened… very helpful… what a funny girl!
My mom and I had been invited to have a booth at May Fest in Downtown Cheney but with never have been to it before didn't know if it would be worth the set up and clean up for 4 hours, so they came to visit to check in out in case we want to join next year…. verdict is still out.
They did have some fun stuff that was free… face painting… both the girls wanted rainbows. Daphne left hers on and finally it washed off Saturday night in her bath… Sami ripped hers off as soon as we got back to the car. They suckered grandpa into buying them cotton candy…
And we found this fun addition….

They even convinced grandma to get in a shot…
(mom I posted this only because it is a good picture of you…)
In a house where you have a by the book, in order kind of daughter… when the egg dyeing doesn't happen for Easter it is just not simply forgotten til next year so finally I relented and we got it done.

I had seven eggs and I let them each dye 3 and I had one… than Daphne dyed it again for me… thanks!

It was a great couple of days look forward to future visits from my parents and anyone else!

Easter!

So this Easter was a different one than we are used too, we actually did the normal Easter stuff. We dyed eggs Saturday morning.
They were colored and glittered..
Than Saturday night after the girls went to bed I was the Easter Bunny. I am not all that into hidding stuff from the kids... they are too young to get it and so it's not really that big a deal my reason is just to make a big deal about it. Holidays are big to me and so I try and make a big deal out of them. Christmas there gifts are hidden and we talk more about Santa but Easter, they picked there own stuffed animals out... so it wasn't that big of a secret.
Well... I filled the plastic eggs with candy and made a trail from there door to the front room, and than I hid eggs around the front room so they could find them when they woke up.
Of course I made it pretty easy!
Sami picked right up on my little game. She opened her bedroom door woke us up and than told me that there were eggs on the ground. I told her she needed to collect them that they were left for her. So I grabbed a basket and held it for her while she gathered and searched.
She found them all. My parents did easter baskets but me and my little sister Torrie and I would hide jelly beans for each other to find, it became pretty fun especially when my brother would find some months even years later and eat them... it was no big deal after a while... just fun!
After Sami had gathered all the eggs Daphne woke up and so we hurried and made another trail and hid some of the eggs and than got Daphne out of bed and put her on the ground to pick up the first egg. To say my girls are opposites is the complete truth. They are a like in a lot of ways but Daphne sat down, picked up the egg and grabbed out the candy and started snacking away... her stomach is always thinking for her. We than just gathered all the eggs because we wanted to limit her candy supply.
We got ready for church and they wore there new easter dresses. Of course they were matching, Sami's dress had yellow trim on it and so she wore her white sweater, and her yellow hair bow
Daphne's dress had pink trim so she wore her pink sweater. To be honest with you, I had enough fabric left over to make myself a tank top to go over a white shirt... so I matched them... I have been having a blast with my "One Yard Wonder Book" if you like to sew... buy it, it's awesome! I was sewing all week! My sewing machine is a permanent fixture in our front room.
Dave I am so proud of, he has lost 15 lbs in the last 3 weeks. He got weighed yesterday. He still has 40 pounds he wants to loose, when you get that heavy the more in danger you are of having major health problems, so he (working at GNC) is trying his hardest not to be a statistic, and it's great... he is a lot better company, and it's a great example to me... I have eaten less since he started... and can feel a difference... even if the scale doesn't show... (it never does for me, grrr my stupid body)
We didn't take pictures of the rest of our day. We went to Sacrament meeting and I sang "I know my Redeemer lives" with the ward choir, and than we came home changed and drove to Post Falls which is an hour drive away through Spokane, to spend the afternoon with Daves sister Laura and her husband Tim and there daughter Casey and several of there friends. It was a great day. They have the perfect party house. They had easter baskets for all the kids with goodies and so they also had an easter egg hunt and than had a huge ol feast. We went home with several plates of food, which of course I didn't mind...
One of the plates was veggies and we just left it on the table... the rest of the night we would catch the girls snacking on the veggies... it was a sweet release from the begging of candy.. Daphne was hilarious though, she would take a bite of something and if she didn't like it she would put it on the table next to the plate... if she liked if she ate it... it was pretty good!
This is Sami's dress, Daphnes was the same style just smaller. They were pretty easy to make once I figured out what I was doing... they are called a "ballet neck dress" the sleeves are a little huge but it is a great spring/summer dress. They like them and they are cute on. I am not into big frilly dresses! Unless they are bought for me or made for me!
Thanks mom for the fabric though!

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jig

So Thursday bright and early my mom and Torrie showed up at my doorstep to collect me and the girls for the weekend in Kennewick. We got loaded up and headed to the Spokane Valley mall... you see Torrie needed a bribe! I wasn't upset... any excuse to shop is fine by me. We had a lot of fun in the Down East Basics shop, and while we were there we overheard the girl talking about the store opening in the Kennewick Mall... SWEET!!! bout time! So now our favorite store! We had some lunch and than headed back. The girls slept most of the way and cuddled with me the rest of the way, (I was sitting in between them)
We dropped Torrie off at home and got out of the car at my moms and this is the first thing I saw... what a beautiful sight... and it was warm... not snowing... it was pure delight!
Me and the girls went out side to bask in the warmth and had a great time.
Thursday we hung out and than went and had dinner at McD's with my mom and got some snacks at Target. Than we put the girls to bed (or at least tried) and than started setting up for the event!
Friday was a busy busy day... we spent the day setting up and getting everything ready for our first night for the event... Daphne wasn't much help the only time I got anything done was when she was down for a nap. It rained the whole day so outside play was not going to happen. Rachel my dear dear friend and cousin picked up the girls at 4 and watched them for the night while I was at the event, it was great.
We ordered pizza for dinner and it was delicious!
Here are a few of the top sellers for the event!
My easter egg countdown!
My mom's "Old Glory" patriotic blocks!
Mothers Day and Fathers Day stuff!
These super cute recipe holders that my mom made!
Pray blocks!
Military plaques by Kim
And the Easter carrot that sold out so fast!
And of course enjoying Abigail... no she wasn't for sale... but she sure was cute to play with! Even when she pooped on my clothes!
After the event ended Saturday afternoon, we just kinda hung out at my parents house watching shows and relaxing and cleaning up after the event. Sunday we went to sacrament with my mom in the branch, than we came back and loaded up and headed home. We were home by around 3...
Just before church Sami was sitting at the kiddie table in the basement and I had just walked upstairs when I hear this hurt crying. I run down stairs thinking something simple when I noticed her caught between the chair and the table... I got her up stairs and discovered her nose was bleeding. After a lot of crying (poor girl) and getting to church we noticed that her nose was swollen and her upper lip was really puffy. After getting home I discovered her upper lip, by her gums is completely black and blue... poor girl... she was so sick! She slept the entire way back, and has kinda been out of sorts since!
I brought the event home with me... Oh and before I left Cheney for the event my friend Lin cut and styled my hair... I have cutie bangs now!
I bought this headband from my sister Torrie... it's super cute!
And of course I had to have some Easter Blocks!
Here is where it all went when I got home... I went with this and 2 boxes and came home with this and no boxes... success!
Now to get ready for Easter!
Catch up on laundry!
And spend my earnings....
since I have no car I wanted to get a bike trailer for my bike and use that to get around Cheney, this summer... but I don't know when that's going to start. We went to Walmart Monday and we went in the store and 20 min later came out and this is what we found...
A nice layer of snow everywhere!
I mean everywhere...
I think the girls got worn out this weekend.. because they sleep A LOT lately!
Tuesday though Daphne was feeling better and was having a great time teasing her sister. Sami was playing and Daphne would put her leg over the couch and Sami would get mad so she would move it than she'd do it again... it was funny! Daphne was obviously bored!
