Anniversary Weekend!

For our Anniversary weekend we were going to go to Portland to the zoo for Saturday but since other unwanted things occurred we are saving that trip for my 30th Birthday weekend.. which sadly is only in 2 months!
We instead packed up and headed to my parents cabin for Friday night to stay Saturday, since it's still a vacation even though it's only 2 hours away!
On our way we had to take a stop off in Benton City to gas up. As Dave was getting out of the car I head this odd noise and looked up to see this goat in the back of the truck crying it's little heart out. Dave turned to me and said we aren't in the city anymore. It's amazing to me at just being half hour out of town or so, it's so different. The owners were going into the gas station and I overheard them telling someone that they had just weened it. It cried for a good while! So sad. It was super cute!
We got up to the cabin about 8 at night and didn't go to sleep until about 1. Sami was so wound up, it was awful. Dave watched "Ground Hogs Day" for the first time. He enjoyed it. We also had some berry lemon cheesecake that my parents brought up. I asked my mom why she bought it and she said, "It's your anniversary isn't it" we dug into that real quick! It was pretty good! Thanks Mom! Saturday I got up at 6 and tried to get Daphne back asleep and than woke up about 7 again. I showered and than got the girls ready for the day. It was a good day. We went on a walk around there 20 some acres. They have plenty of paths already worn away, most from the 4-wheeler. We have seen deer and my parents have seen bear. These are deer tracks. Oh and notice the red dirt... yes, it's sure fun to have coated in your hair! And these are squirrel prints... rather large I thought. The squirrels up there have sure done a number on my parents stuff. They chewed threw some electrical lines in both there cars last year, and ruined a tun of stuff in there trailer, along with mice. And my dad checked out the outhouse that has been up there since they first started building, and the squirels had thrashed the place, toilet paper everywhere! It was great! The walk started with Me, Mom and Sami, and Dave was inside with Daphne. But than we were half way back when we heard this abnormally loud barking noise from behind us. It scared the crap out of me, and my mom started to get a bit panicked. The neighbors up there have dogs and so that is what she thought it was, I thought maybe some other kind of wild animal, it was such a loud noise, until Dave jumped out from behind the trees... thanks Dave! I tried to get a picture of how dirty Sami was. She had dirt all over her face, but she was moving the whole time so no such luck with that! There are also a ton of lizards up there. One summer we caught one for my sister Suzie, but put it back. These ones were sun bathing on the rocks. so cool! Me and Dave did our normal 4-wheeler ridding. I hate how pictures can't capture the true beauty of the outdoors, but look how nice, all around us. Entering into the property! Seeing my parents cabin! Mom and Sami out on the porch. There porch is the length of the house and has huge windows into the great room. You can see Mt Hood perfectly! It's amazing! I took Daphne for a walk it was great. You could tell where animals laid because there was all kind of pine needles moved and fresh dirt in places... so cool! This is the loft, where we stayed. Daphne was being really good while I got everything packed up. She is learning how to drink sippies. I love it. She grabs both handles and lifts it high above her head while she is drinking. So cute! The view of the great room from the loft. I love the colors that my parents used, so warm and inviting. I know that with them having this house, it's going to make them younger. It's great! I look forward to going up there more and more. We just gotta get the kids bed times under raps. It will also be nicer when we get a bigger vehicle that doesn't bounce so much down the road. Just to think... a piece of this property will be mine someday. Thanks parents!
