We had a good weekend. It was pretty lax Saturday and Monday which is the way we like it. We didn't do to much just relax and run errands. Dave has been doing some pretty serious overtime this week and so he was looking forward to just a weekend of relaxing, which is pretty much what he got I guess.
For the first time I attempted to paint Sami's toenails for church, I am usually redoing my toenails every other Sunday if not every and so I figured I might as well add hers in to see how she did. She wears tennis shoes every day except Sunday and for this reason I haven't done it prior but I figured first time for everything. She did great. We clipped her nails than I only put one coat on the nails than quickly dried them with a blow dryer in case she wanted to touch them, she just looked at them, and hasn't even touched them since, she has done a good job, and likes them!
This is an upside down picture of her, she is pretty cute, my mini me.
As we were getting ready to go on our day trip she was collecting things and playing with them on our bed. That is one of her favorite places to play is on our bed. Why I don't know, the mirror on our dresser that she likes to stand up and look in, I don't know. But here she has, two play phones, two toothbrushes, some misc potato head toys, a care bear and her sippie... so cute! I hardly ever get to keep my bed looking nice I do make it in the morning but her first chance she messes it up.
Since Dave got his XBox 360 he has been having a lot of fun. He created himself a character on Sunday and when he got done creating him he asked me what I thought. He did have a green shirt on but my husband doesn't own a green shirt, even though it's his favorite color. You can tell why he dressed the guy like he did... this is how he dresses. Sunglasses, shorts, polo, flip flops, hair gelled, and the dude even has a wedding ring on that looks like Daves... so funny.
We decided to go up for the yearly Memorial Day picnic at my parents property and since they started building I haven't been up there, a 2 year old, and prego women with people with tools doesn't mix. We were about 1 1/2 hr. in with a 1/2 hr. left when Sami was done being good. I gave her my husbands empty pop cup and she is getting to smart for this trick because it had nothing in it so not fun.
I took some pictures of the house. As you can see the outside is about done and so than they just have the inside left... this is the side. The basement windows are in the family room. The upstairs windows are in the master bedroom, and the unfinished part is the loft with holes for windows.
This is the back. That is a huge porch and it overlooks the whole 20 some acres they have and a few bonuses. That is the basement door and it opens to a stair case in front of you, than to the left is the family room, to the right is the garage.
Here is my mom, Aunt and niece hanging out talking about stuff in the great room. They didn't want to build a huge house with a ton of bedrooms and so they just built a house with a big family room, huge great room, one master bedroom for them, and a loft. They aren't going to be moving up there permanently it is just a vacation home and it is perfect only being 2 hours away.
This is looking out the back windows over the unfinished large porch. That you can't tell in the picture but in between those two tall trees is Mt Hood. You can see, Adams, Hood, and I believe Helens from that porch, hence the reason the house faces that way. They are in the process of getting the view blocker odd trees out of the way.
This is out the front of the house that over looks the road in a out.
This is standing in the family room looking up to the loft. When I first saw this my mom helped me get up there. It was a bit scary. They are putting the stairs in next weekend.
This is the family room. Where a projector screen will be (my dad decided) and that empty wall next to the windows a Murphy bed is going in, than along the walls will be benches that will double as beds for sleeping. We will be having some serious family get together' up here. They bought the property 9 years ago and have been gradually getting things done. First was clearing up the rubbish after the loggers went through, than getting an out house, shed and there first motor home. Than came electricity, and a well than came #2 motor home and getting things ready for the house. They have a deal with there building permit where they have a year to get the house built and so all this they have done (well the house, foundation etc) in this year, so by Thanksgiving they plan on having a chin dig to celebrate!
This is the garage side. That big box thing sticking out is where the chimney goes.
As we were driving into the property Dave was asking me if I was going to go on any 4 wheeling rides and I said oh yeah and how would I explain that to my doctor. So me and Dave didn't go but Sami did. My dad pulled away with my neice and Sami called out, "Grandpa what about me?" she is very good at letting people know what she thinks, and you can understand her usually. She is a very loud little girl, I don't have any clue where she got that.
Here we are getting the spread ready.
Here we are in the motor home and I am wiping Sami's hands off after she helped stir the Kevin Jello...

Well we hope you all had a good day and we can't forget the reason for Memorial Day, I pray with all the changes the new president hopes to make he won't get rid of these necessary holidays that are reserved in remembrance of our armed forces. Thank you for working so hard!
