Happy 9 months early Birthday to me!

So… things in our family are kind of funny… well it's mainly just me…
When Dave gets something new I get something new… especially when it's expensive…
I guess to sum it up It has to be fair…
So when he told me he wanted to buy a 3-D drawing tablet for his 35 birthday which is next month (I can't believe he is that old) I jokingly said what do I get… than he came back and said… why do you have to get something it's my birthday…

Than a couple nights later I was falling asleep planning… and thinking about our Disneyland trip which we are going on next month and how I wish we had something the girls could watch a movie on, on the plane that would keep them happy especially Sami, she doesn't travel well. And I thought hey it would be cool if I had a device that is like an iPad… but than I threw that thought away because we aren't made of money and that is way out of our budget.
The next day my husband tells me he wants to buy me a Kindle for my birthday…
I say ok… why? He said that his boss got one for christmas and it's really cool and it was only $130 bucks… that I could watch movies on it and read… well than I get it in my head that yeah that would be cool… so than I get on Facebook and ask what everyone thinks, and than I read the reviews on Amazon that other people left and I think yeah I want one… maybe we can get it before our trip…
So than I tell my husband all this on Wednesday and low and behold he gets on line and buys one for me… he tells me I have to find a cheaper case for it elsewhere because $30 and $40 cases on Amazon is too much…
Friday I watched the tracking all day and around 4:30 the UPS guy delivered it.
As is tradition in our house when someone gets something new especially an electronic device we take pictures… Dave was at work and so Sami took this picture of me!
If this is how everything else will be from now I am on board…
"frustration free packaging" Score!
I used my fingernail to break the seal…
Open it up, there is a plug and the kindle that is it… ok…
Even better it came all the way to mostly charged!
Must say i love the new plugs where they fold in like this… helps with traveling and not breaking the prongs… oh and I love how the cord doubles as a computer cord… I know they have been doing this for awhile but It is still cool… no having to cart around 2 cords! And I like it even better that it is shaped different than my nook cord, and phone cord… can tell the difference when they are all plugged into the same power strip by my bed.
Can you tell I am married to a computer geek? A Cord connoisseur/ collector?
So have a new device must get a case for it… something my kids are going to be holding while they watch movies and stuff must have a case… so I being a physical person like to know what I am buying before I buy it do some research and find that Best Buy and Target sell cases… an excuse for us to go to the valley today….
We go to the Valley i take a wrong turn and find a Down East Outfitters Outlet… oh man… this is dangerous… I have to check it out…
I find a couple shirts I want and than I see this bag… this purse… black and white polka dot… it's calling me… I put the shirts back and splurge… I have been thinking of excuses all day when my husband realizes I bought a bag for $16 when that is not what I should have been buying…
So than we go to Target.. buy popcorn and leave the store with dollar coloring books and nothing else an hour and half later… no success
Head to Best Buy… just $40 cases… yeah right sorry
the guy says go check Staples…
I have no clue what I am buying… and so I leave…
I bought one on Walmart on line for less than $10 now if I don't like it I can take it back to Walmart which I frequent a lot more than Staples…
So instead of paying $30-$40 on one case I got a awesome bag and a case for $26… SCORE!!!

happy Early Birthday to me…

Oh and yeah I got my birthday present before my husband when mine is 9 mo away… well he won the bid on Ebay for his tablet… today so he will get his present soon… I think the older you get this is just how you do things…
