The monstrosity that is our Christmas tree!

So my awesome, wonderful Aunt Nancy, used to have 4 kids and a husband living under one roof and so they had more room, well now she is down to herself and one kid, and so she is getting rid of stuff, so she... gave me this. My parents brought it over last night, and as you can tell, it would not have fit in anything other than the bed of a truck... I found the middle pole and got to work... each different layer was bundled... and after a lot of work, (a couple hours at least), this is the end result... As you can tell, it is much much bigger than our old tree, and yes, there are presents and a tree skirt under it and you can't even see them, the tree is so wide... the box is on our back porch, because it is a sopping mess, and so I will be investing in a tree bag, to store it in from now on, but I think this tree is awesome, and I got it for free ( think), which is even better. I had to put each branch on, well click it into place, which took the time, and spread the branches out, but it is awesome. I think next year I might not put the two bottom layers on, we shall see. Notice the lights and ornaments stop about the height of a 1 year old... yes this was planned. Oh so exciting... i do need a bigger star though. I got out my brand new vacuum afterwards and vacuumed all the needles up, and you think your lucky getting a fake tree, nope... you still get needles, but I am ok with that, because I get to put my tree up the day after Thanksgiving , and enjoy it all month... I love it!
I have been in a sewing, crafting funk as you will see. I grew up in a house where I got a new Easter dress and Christmas dress, basically every year and so I do the same for my girls. I found this awesome fabric at Hobby Lobby for 50% of when they opened and so I got some. I made Sami a skirt, and Daphne a jumper. the more I sew, the more confident I get, but it is still a trying thing for me. I have seen all these skirts with the tule sticking out on the bottom and so that is what I did with there skirts... they look cuter in person, but I am happy with them, and they are super cute! Sporting a flower clip Aunt Torrie made! This is what happens when your child covers up an important part of the camera lens. But Daphne has been a poo all week and so she wouldn't pose for this picture... this is the best I could get. She has a red shirt on, and a red flower pin on the front of her dress, She didn't want me to take the dress off.
Hope your Christmas season is going well... I got to hurry like a mad woman this week and get our Christmas cards out... Merry Christmas!
