30 years of Sara!

I know my birthday hasn't arrived yet but thinking about it I decided I would do a special post to celebrate the occasion. I am not really celebrating but if people would like to celebrate for me etc they are free to do that. I decided since I will have been alive for 30 years I will do the 30 Wonders of Sara! Some of them are accompanied with pictures, some of them are not, and keep in mind they are in no particular order!
1. Born September 10, 1980 to George and Shirley Ransom born in Kennewick Washington at Kennewick General Hospital. (I thought for the longest time that show General Hospital, was about the hospital I was born in.)
2. I was born at 7:11 pm and weighed in at 8 pounds 13 in long. I had no hair and when it did come in it was a light light blonde, almost white. (pictures coming up) When my mom called my brother Andy to tell him the news and baby info, he told sisters in the ward that called, that I was born at 7:11 pm and some of them thought I was born at the convenient store while my mom was buying a coke. I will forever love slurpees because of this.
3. As I said in no particular order. This is me and my DoubleGanger Samara Ann Wright Staker. She now travels the US with her husband and his job, and is due at the end of 2010 beginning of 2011 with a baby girl. She was my best friend for several years, and if we ever live in the same place again, we just might keep that up. This picture was taken the day she moved to Utah. She was my roommate for the summer before me and David got married. She introduced me to two guys I did date prior, I forgave her for the crash and burn. She was one of my bridesmaids, she drove to WA to be here for me and I drove to Utah to be there for her. I had forgotten my recommend and had baby Sami and my parents with me, I wish I could have been a better bridesmaid to her as she was to me. 4. This is a picture of my Grandpa Ransom and a few of my cousins and siblings on his 80th Birthday I believe. He passed in 97 and I wasn't old enough to remember much when his wife passed in 84 but when he passed that was sad, he is missed and loved still. 5. This is my most romantic picture that me and Dave ever took together. It was about a week before we got married. And I am still in love with him now more than ever and it's been 4 years. 6. A day I will remember forever, the day I officially became a mom, and I had Samantha Ann 6 lbs 15 ounces 21 in long born June 18th 2007 at 9:55pm. One of the scariest things I have ever done and I will just say Having Daphne was a breeze compared to this. Me and David didn't plan on having kids this early on in our marriage and were married for a good 2 months before we decided it was the right time. Things have not been easy for us financially with having kids, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. It is my major accomplishment looking on my 30th year, and knowing I have come a long way... 7. At the Seattle Emerald Comic Convention with my husband in Seattle I got the chance to meet one of my favorite characters Chewbacca. In the past when I was young and didn't know how to fix my hair (aka Freshman Gymnastics picture) my wonderful siblings nicknamed me Chewsacca. I now find it a growing moment, knowing I will never again not know how to fix my hair properly. 8. One of my favorite desserts is Cheesecake and while in Seattle we got to try out some of the best. It was great, and one of my favorite moments. 9. For about a year and half I taught piano lessons. I started with Rilee and than added the twins than last added Bodie. It was a great opportunity and look forward to the day I get to start up again, they were great students! 10. Since me and Dave have been married we have moved, 7 times. and so I have quite good at packing and labeling and unpacking in a timely matter. We are staying put for a good while. 11. One of my favorite meals to eat out is Chicken Taquittos from Azteca. This was last years birthday meal, this year it will most likely be Casa Mia... yummy! 12. I love cooking, any form it comes to me. Especially love cooking with fresh fruits and vegetables. I hardly ever cook the same thing twice, variety is best. 13. Another great day, the birth of Daphne Jean born September 23, 2009 at 7:33 pm, shorter labor than her sister. 7 lbs 3 ounces 20 in long. Not as awful, but got to really understand what people go through when they have a no drug labor. I had drugs for the last 2 hours and that was it. I was a 7 cm before I got them. Strange day. Me and Dave were very blessed to have another girl. I was of course bummed at first that it wasn't a boy, but having the two girls close together has been great and such a blessing. They love each other. I know it will be a few years before we try it again and so I get to enjoy not nursing and not being pregnant for a while. In the 4 years we have been married, there has only been a total of 6 mo where I wasn't pregnant or nursing... not a long time if you ask me. I love having children and being a mom and knowing that Heavenly Father has blessed me to be able to have children as well as I do. I know I have many other trials besides this to teach me. 14. My favorite flower is purple lilacs, you can always tell when Spring is here because they bloom during the beginning of Spring just when it's starting to get warm outside. One of my favorite times of year. When it starts getting warm and when it starts cooling down... love it. 15. I love being outdoors, as long as snakes are not involved. And of course defiantly love ridding a 4-wheeler at my parents cabin. We always see deer while cruising. 16. My parents cabin, such an exciting place to be and so much fun when we are there. They will some day retire here and we can go visit more so than we do now. They have 20 some acres and just to think that a piece of this will be mine when they pass away, but I am not looking forward to that day. 17. Love the Oregon Coast, nothing can beat it. I have been to the Washington coast and the california Coast but by far love the Oregon Coast. On this trip. I walked early with Daphne on the beach and got to see crabs everywhere waiting to catch the tide back into the water. 18. This was Christmas of 83, so I was Sami's age here and that is so strange to me. How much would you say we look alike? This year my parents had us all take a picture in this hat. 19. My favorite costume ever. I wore this two years in a row. And my mom would have me wear my snuggie underneath to keep warm. I was a big cabbage patch owner. I had two dolls (and still have them) Genieva and Blanche. My mom made them clothes to match my clothes. It's funny to me that this is a plastic costume because usually my mom would make all our costumes, I think this was the only one that she didn't. 20. I danced for a few years in ballet and it was so much fun. I remember costumes and places. One Christmas my mom made me a leotard and my dance class thought it was so cool that my mom had to make them for all the kids in my class. 21. My sisters, we would do this often, put our ballet tights on our heads, it was a blast. This was taken at our house in Bosie Idaho. We moved there when I was one. And my parents built a 3 story house. We had a chow mix dog for a bit, and that was when we gained Fatly as our cat. She moved with us to Washington, and lived for another 10-15 years. 22. I believe I am 1 year old here.. when I was in my first year of kindergarten the doctors discovered that I had 70% hearing loss in both ears. I had a tube put in each ear, and after a time one fell out and they removed the other and than I had to get one put in again in one ear. After moving from Boise, Idaho area back to Kennewick, Washington they removed the remanning tube and I continued to have problems until my high school years, when they stopped. I still have some hearing loss, but nothing enough to worry about. I was tested a few years ago. 23. The Ransom clan: Mom, little sister Torrie, Me, Suzie, Cindy, Andy and my dad. Age order. 24. The day I received my endowments at the Provo Utah temple. It was exciting day for us. 22 days later we were sealed for time and all eternity in the Columbia River Washington Temple and 2 months later we started our eternal family. 25. My little sis and I on a trip with some friends at Cannon Beach. My sisters (I have 3) we have always been friends and can talk to each other whenever we need to. I hope our friendship is always strong and dependable. 26. I worked at Claire's jewelry shop in the mall for 4 years and had a blast. I also worked at Roberts Arts and Crafts another favorite place. My first job was at KFC/Taco Bell my senior year. I quit there and worked for a few months at Round Table Pizza before moving away to go to college. 27. Me and my 2 best friends from highschool. Kim Blodgett Brown and Teresa Walker. We still keep in touch off and on, and share with each other the ups and downs in life. So gratful for these girls, they were the best friends a girl could ever ask for. Me and Teresa graduated in 99 and she had gone through Beauty School and so she didn't go away to college. In Jan of 2000 I started at the LDS Buisness College. In December of 2001 I graduated with my Associates of Science. I was than accepted into the Recreation Education Dept at BYU-Idaho and began in January of 2002. I went there until July of 2002 when I got extremely sick and had to drop out and move home. After returning home I continued my education at CBC to finish my 2 year degree. I know have 2 /2 year degrees. And some day hope to go back to school to get my BA in Literature with a minor in Humanities.
28. I also love anything red, and decorating in cheeries which also influences my thirst for decorating and crafting. I am an assistant to my mother in our business Ransom. Made Design. We are going on our 3rd year of being in business and are having a great time. My sisters, and aunt and my moms best friend and various other family members also contribute.
29. When I lived at home from 2002-2006 I attended the branch. My last year in the branch I was called as a 1st counselor to the Relief Society President and throughly enjoyed the work and getting to know the inner workings of the more involved callings. I loved the family ward I had and I know it has prepared me to be more involved in Relief Society. Since I have been married I have been on several different Enrichment Committees, taught Primary classes with my husband and am now currently the 2nd counselor in the Primary in our ward. I love the service that Heavenly Father has asked of me, and I hope I am serving him in the ways he hoped I would.
30. I was diagnosed with a hypothyroid in 2003 (the reason for coming home from school) and shortly after diagnosed with Cilac disease. In 2009 I started learning quite a bit more about the condition having abided by it for 5 years and since I was seeing a new doctor she had me re-evaulated to discover I never had Cilac. Than since the beginning of August I have been sick alot and the same doctor after allergy tests etc diagnosed me with IBS. My body feels like it's wearing out. I am very grateful for my body and that it allows me to still be happy and move around and be in my own mind.
Thanks for hanging in there in the '30 years of Sara!' I am not telling you this information for you to black mail me with it later in life, I just thought it might be fun, and I am trying to show myself how much to be grateful for.
