Since it is Mother's Day I decided to post pictures of me and David with our mother's. The one with me and my mom depicts my mother very well. That is at my wedding reception and I had just gotten back in my dress and she is making sure the train that is bustled up is smoothed out. My mom is so great that way, she has taught me all those need to know things about making sure I look my best. She has never let me leave the house looking bad. And in turn it has helped me to be a better mother.
This is Dave and his mother, on Easter of 2008 at her house in Kennewick. Barbara I know is such a great mother for David they are a like in many ways. She is very artistic and healthy and that has imbedded in him and he is the same. She is also a great mother in law I love seeing the things she has made between painting, knitting, and cooking. She is also a amazing gardener. I learn just as much from her that I learn from my own mother, I love having a artistic mother and mother -n- law because it helps me to expand my interest.
My mother's day went really well. I woke up and asked Dave what was for breakfast and he made me waffles. Not in bed, I don't want sticky syrup in bed. Than he gave me my gift. He usually doesn't wrap my gifts and usually I am with him when he picks them out, but I encouraged him to do that this time... he did a good job! He was going to get me Marley and Me the movie since I like it so much but I asked for this book I have had my eye on for months from Barnes and Noble. It is leather bound and you can see the front... it is beautiful, it reminds me of that style of day back in Jane Austen time. It has all her novels in it... I was in the middle of reading Persuasion and so I just found my place and left off right there. It is great. The only books of hers that I did own were Persuasion and Pride and Prejudice and so now I have all of them... in one place... My husband has this tradition of making me cards... they are nothing like mine, just a piece of computer paper, but as you can see he draws amazingly. I decided to make a collage of all his drawings he has done for me... since it is not all the time, they are important to me and I want to display them... so I will take a picture of that.
This is Sami Saturday morning waking daddy up. Dave usually gets up when she wakes up Mon-Fri and usually Sat and Sun to let me sleep in and so I decided to give him a break and get her up just this once... I know he appreciated it.

Dave usually gets up when she wakes up Mon-Fri and usually Sat and Sun to let me sleep in and so I decided to give him a break and get her up just this once... I know he appreciated it. I got her up showered and went over to my mom's to clean. Than I hit up the bank and than to the grocery store (by myself) and than came home. They were playing in the back yard.. she has become quite the outdoor child.. I just wish our back yard was more compatible. Dave hit the books so as too not have to worry about that for the rest of the day and Sami went down for a nap. I decided to get crafty as a Mother's Day fun, and went to the craft store and got some stuff to make for the girls rooms and to make a message board. I will post pics later when they are in place, I had fun and was up until 11 finishing things. I have to finish stuff or they don't get done.
I told Dave when he was done with homework we needed to go out as a family and do something fun. Since it was Mother's Day weekend I got to choose. We first went to the duck pond at Columbia Park but that was a bother real quick since Sami wanted to play in the water, yuck! She never got the chance and we left and headed down the road to the play ground of dreams but there was ton of traffic because of a baseball game and so we headed up to Lawrence Scott park instead.

She has a fear of big groups of children she doesn't know and so the play ground wasn't an option. She took off walking in the grass and we followed her. This is a place a long the way where there were those yucky flowers that you blow the stuff off... her dad taught her to do that and so everyone she saw she had to do it.
We walked around a bit than visited Dave's brother and his family that's back yard backs up to the park and saw there bunnies. Sami liked them, I thought we were out of memory or I would have gotten a picture... next time. Dave's request was Slurpees on the way home and so of course we got one for Sami, her first one. Me and Dave grew up on these on hott days and so it was only normal. She enjoyed it thouroughly and so did her outfit.
Dave loved his too. Sami got Hawiann Punch, I got pina colada, cherry and pepsi, and Dave got banna and pina colada... I have never met someone who enjoys bananna flavored stuff as much as him... It was a good day.
This is Monday morning (today) Sami is watching her morning PBS cartoons, what will she learn today? She is getting so much older I can usually do my own thing in the morning and as long as she has milk and her blankie she is happy. She goes into her room to read books, and to the piano to play and to the couch to watch... she only bothers me when I am fixing my hair... and while I was typing this up she came in and started drawing on papers at Daddies drawing table.. she is a lot like her dad for sure! Yesterday she learned a new word, Church. You can actually understand it when she says it.
