Ok... so I want to say Tuesday, yeah Tuesday (yeah long week I guess). I was sewing together the last of my 57 headbands that I am selling at the Event this next weekend (RMD event want more info go to ransom-made.com) and my sewing machine decided not to work. My old machine the one pictured below in the back ground as you can tell is quite a bit fancier than the new one pictured, ok here's the story! My mother has been sewing since well she was old enough to know not to sew her finger, and well since I can remember she has only owned now 3 sewing machines. All Singers. The one the I have is one she had for at least 10 years and than she got a new one and I got the old one and had it for about 5 years (lasted through several moves, just with me) and well it is really fancy. It was computerized for one thing, and it sewed letters and cute little designs and such. So I was trying to sew one of these designs and it wouldn't do it and so than I went back to sewing normal and it wouldn't even do that, after turning it off and back on again and messing with stuff it finally did. I decided since I am a serious user of my sewing machine and not just for clothes I need something dependable. I called my mother and we went from there.
I made it over to Target after looking on there website and found this beauty that on the website had good reviews (1 out of 8 was bad ) and purchased it for $75 I believe or close to that. It comes with all the necessities and it is very very light... as you can see by the box advertisement.
After a few hours of trying to play with it I realized that I had been spoiled with the fancy hand me down and called my mother. She was planning on coming over that night anyways but was, I think enjoying the fact that she got to play with a new sewing machine... She helped me work out my quirks, and it is great I love it!

I won't get into now but just glad we are renting, I am not a fan of mobile homes.
Let me fill you in before I get too far into this. Our house sits on the property lengthwise, which is good because we have a huge yard. So from the road you can't see any door, and only one window (as below picture shows). The owners of this home give us an amazing deal and are in the process of fixing the place up so they can sell it next year and buy a new house, house. They never used the front door, and at one time it was actually blocked by a fish tank, and so moving in I had my hands full with that. Pictured here is the back porch, we don't have a key to our front door and neither do the owners, so we use the back door for entering. We prefer our guests to use the front door, half the time that happens to my dismay.
This is the garden and as you can see the owners or whoever loves using brick and tarp to cover things up, It is a huge work in progress but I managed to make a brick path to the planters and weeded the strawberries and planted cucumbers, and watermelons, with room to spare for some tomato plants... my first garden we will see how it goes.
In the picture above you see a gate leading out to the road. This is our back gate that leads to our back door. And here is the nicest part of the yard, this large flower bed that has been used. We moved in, in August and so all these Spring flowers were new to me and so as you can hopefully see they are all over this flower bed.
Here is some bulbs that have been there and I am pretty sure the plant that doesn't have a flower is a fern of some sort... it looked nice so I didn't pull it.
Here are two of the 3 totes of weeds that I have picked in the course of 2 days... most of these are from this flower bed... and most of it was the thick grass that pulls right out... I am not surprised that my legs are sore.
This is how our house looks from the street. Kinda boring, but not my house so I do what I can. That window is to our well never mind I am not going to say... I guess I am not looking to get robbed.
This is our front door, as you can tell it has been dearly neglected. And I have saved your patience of showing you the picture of the walk way that is still covered in weeds, I have half of it cleared. But I am attempting to make this front door look inviting so people will like to enter in it and not my back door that is right next to my washer and dryer. The front door opens up into the clean (most of the time) family room, with pictures and such, not our yucky kitchen.
Here is my craftiness with the vinyl. I also got crafty on my pots... just a little fun.
#3 on the agenda... This is one of my 4 different styles of frames I have made up for the event this weekend. They have been tons of fun to put together. I am so excited... I have many other things that are half done but something new and different is more fun!
well hope you have a good day and I will probably post again this week to cover Easter of course! My little princess Easter egg hunting while walking... yeah!
