CHICKEN POX GIRLY!

As I have mentioned before... well I think anyways... last Tuesday I found the pox on Sami and so that meant a week of home for her. She is so funny. She has really turned into a coloring fool. She loves to color. We have taken pens away from her because well for the obvious reasons those end up coloring books, floor, clothes etc, and so she is strictly a pencil and crayon kind of girl unless she draws on the floor and than she is done. I don't have any pictures of her coloring with crayons and I will have to get some soon but here is some of her pretending to color with a marker. As you can see it is not a regular marker but a stamp one, and the lid well she doesn't know how to get those off yet. But she loves to doodle.
One of her favorite things to doodle on is her "Magna Doodle" which we are thinking of getting her the big one when she learns how to walk as a reward. We aren't sure when that will happen but someday I know she is getting closer and closer. Today she was playing a game with her dad where he would say "Come and Get Me" and she would stand up and walk after him laughing until she got close to him. She walked all over our house with out falling down... so yes what we have thought all a long is true, she can walk, she just doesn't want too. But she is getting more confident with it. She is not as wobbly, and she balances her self better, but when she is on her knees she doesn't have to worry about falling over so of course she is going to prefer that.
On Saturday we were bored and I was itching to get out of the house to enjoy the nice sun. I was wanting to pull some weeds in our flower bed to make more breathing room for our tulip buds that are popping up all over the place but the sun wasn't over that part of the house anymore so we just opted to play in the backyard and take some pictures for birthday presents. She did really good at the slide, we are definitely going to have to take her to parks a lot this summer. She knows when to let go and slides down with some confidence. On her second try though she started going and didn't let go with her arm and so she was not wanting to do it anymore. It was funny. I video taped the slides and she would let go when I said let go. Pretty cute. Another photo opt. Our backyard as you can see has toys from the owners and this toy was blown over and filled with water a lot this winter and so I wasn't interested in letting her play on it... she wasn't too thrilled either, you never know what is living in there...
Besides that Saturday was my husbands last official day of work at Western Tool Supply. It is the contractors choice so most of what they sell is for guys who build houses and since the housing market is so horrible right now, they have just gone belly up.
On Monday (yesterday) I was gone teaching piano and when I got home he sat me down and told me he has to go into work and he knew why. He just thought he was getting laid off but turns out the whole store is closing. We knew this was going to happen. When a store goes from making 6,000 a day to maybe 1,000 you know there in trouble, they couldn't special order, they couldn't do anything normal and so it all just was a matter of time, we knew it was coming a month ago when they cut his pay and hours and we lost about $200 a month, that is when David started looking for a job, but with work and school he could only spend Monday and Tuesday searching and he had a couple promising places but it all fell through. We just knew something would come our way that was exactly what we needed, when that comes we will be ready I guess.
So now we are unemployed and going to be living off the state until he finds another job (thank you taxes payers we would do it for you). Whether it be full time or a couple part time we will see. I am still plugging away at piano lessons and I could take on more students but with his job being the main priority and mine just being a side thing for me to have some money's I am not pushing just enjoying.
Well, I hope the economy failures have been kinder to most of you out there, I know my Uncle and his sons in Vegas are struggling in there plumbing business... it's a hard world out there right now and sorry to say, if you have a lot of faith in the president than your probably the only one I know that does, I personally think his stimulus package was a joke .
have a good day!

First of all, I'm so sorry- it really is rough out there. I know a lot of people are getting laid off, a lot of people are struggling. You just never know in this economy. Best of luck to you!

You're right-Vegas isn't any better. In fact, it's worse than a lot of other places. We had so many people moving here because of the building boom and now there is nothing left to build. All of these people that moved here are stuck! I hope you guys find something soon-I know you will! Good luck!

Cute pictures of Sami! It's so nice that the weather is getting a little better to go play outside in.
