You see the picture this was taken in January and here they are two very healthy happy people in my life, my husband and daughter. Well this month... not so much.
Just when I didn't think things could be in worse situation for us, David still looking for a job in this horrible economy where we are just struggling to say afloat, with the hours he still has, we are starting to come to grips with the fact that we are just grateful for what we have, that was what we discussed today, but I don't think we felt like that last week before everything went down to stress us out to the point where we just are praying for health and energy.
Saturday night David went to bed around 10 (I had been in bed for about 2 hours, I was tired) and well, he was dizzy. He dozed on and off until about 2 am when I woke up to use the bathroom and noticed he was awake and out of sorts. He than told me about how dizzy he was and I felt bad since a couple weeks ago I was dizzy and that just isn't fun. Well... shortly after he started throwing up, and going to the bathroom a lot. About an hour and half later I woke up and realized that he was still in the bathroom, I got up and opened the door and there he was out cold on the bathroom floor, I kinda laughed because that is just odd, and a bit later he came back to bed, this continued off and on until about 6:30 in the morning and we were up for the day. I think I probably got about 3 hours of sleep. Thank goodness we didn't have church until 11 and it was our first Sunday teaching our new class... I got ready and me and Sami went to church for the last 2 hours.
Well... David stopped throwing up and started being able to keep liquid down. His mom brought over some apple juice and pedialyte and that seemed to help out a lot. Monday he ate some stuff and was feeling very improved and than about 7-7:30 at night that all changed. He was complaining and dancing around obviously in a lot of pain in his lower abdomen and I tried calling some walk-ins and they either wouldn't take our insurance or were booked. I got him convinced to get dressed and we jumped into the car and headed to Kadlec Emergency room. We got there (being my first experience in an emergency room I was very very stressed), we got all checked in and I think that they realized the severity of the pain and we were in a room in a half hour. During this time I was calling every family member I have in the area, my brother who lives in Richland, my parents and all three phones they have, my little sister... and just as we were getting in the room my little sister calls. She came by and got Sami and took her to my brother's who's phone wasn't working and hmm... (still isn't, (they need a cell phone)) and dropped her off... seeing how she is a crawler and close to bed time there was no way she was going to sit on my lap while we waited for what ended up being 3 hours for everything to get accomplished.
They quickly hooked him up to an IV and 2 bags later he could finally go to the bathroom, and it was apparent he was dehydrated I have never seen urine that color before. They took blood, but all that showed was that he was low on potassium which happens when you are that sick. Than they took an x-ray and found out his colon was very enlarged. After that the doc came in and told us about this wonderful flu virus that has been going around that they have been seeing people for the last week on. It is a normal flu, and than just when you are feeling better you start eating again and most of the time the food is too hard to digest and so the body says no and shuts down, and you get very bloated and gassy and dehydrated. Around 11 we left the hospital and picked up our sleeping child and came home and crashed I was so tired... I had dealt with a lot of stress that I have never dealt with, wow it was a little scary for a bit at the beginning too.
Now... Sami... early last week she had diarrhea pretty bad and in about 24 hours it was past and now today I get her up from a 4 hour nap she took and I take her pants off to change her diaper when I notice a collection of spots on her leg. I immediately thought spider bite because it was such a cluster. I took her out to show my husband and he immediately thought chicken pox. I had to go order Dave's cake for Saturday and so I dropped by my mom's house to see what she thought and she immediately said chicken pox... yeah my favorite.
I used to be the one that everyone worried about being sick but I think as a blessing I haven't been sick in the toliet for about a week or more, and have been able to be just fine. I have reverted back to drinking caffeine in pop to help me pick it up a step to help my care taking of 2 more productive but I still have a messy kitchen and I think I am about caught up with the laundry I just have one more basket to fold but it should all come together in the next few days in time for the shin dig!
I hope everyone is having a better week than we are and that you are enjoying the sun because you can bet I sure am... it was wonderful. The rain wasn't as fun, but it was better than snow and not as cold.

So sorry David and Sami had been sick, it's almost as bad as having it yourself. Take care.
