Christmas Week

This week has been a great one. It all began when church was canceled for our Stake on the 21 and so we got to just hang out at home all day. It was a pretty relaxing day to say the least.

We did get over to my parents house for dinner, we needed a break from being at home. Than we found out my parents were going to be sing in there stake Christmas program and we hadn't brought any clothes and so Dave decided to opt out and I borrowed some of my mom's clothes and went, it was really good. I was so bummed since it was Christmas Sunday and we didn't have church. What can you do.

We had a good week though Monday Dave had to work and I took the car over to my mom's house to hang out and help get ready for our FHE caroling experience and we went to the mall and shopped for my dad, that was fun. I picked Dave up from work and we got some Burger King and than stopped by his brother's house and than headed to WinCo. We were joking around since I always kind of help him direction wise while we are driving around and usually he gets really annoyed by it, but he didn't mind it and called me his "GPS system" and so I was being really funny about it sounding like a robot and telling him to take the back way to WinCo to avoid Clearwater. Well just as we had located a spot to park we were waiting for this white car to pull out and we gave them plenty of room to do so, it was really odd, we just kept thinking, ok now pull forward, ok now pull forward, oh crap there not pulling forward they don't see us they are going to hit us... honnnnnkkkkkkk! Yeah they totally smacked our bumper hard, my leg hit the console, but I was so in shock that I didn't really think about it. We pulled into the spot and got out to see the damage. David didn't know what to do since he hadn't ever been in a wreck or anything like this and well it's been awhile for me and so I called my dad to make sure we didn't need to call the cops, and since we were in a parking lot we didn't and just got there info. Our car is fine, a few scratches in the paint and that is about it. There car seemed to be fine, but like I care... they claimed they didn't see us because they didn't scrape there back window good enough, it was not very well done, I am surprised they made it there with it that way.

We continued our shopping to get a few things and for the first 10 min or so neither of us could concentrate on what we were actually doing in the store... we were both so shocked... yeah! We went caroling as a family; my parents, sister and her husband, sister and her kids, we had fun, we just went around to the neighbors in my parents cold-e-sac.

Ok well yeah... besides Monday we didn't do much else, I stayed home most they days I think cleaning and relaxing.

Christmas Eve Dave got off around 2 and came home and than I left to the theater to see the "Twilight" it is about time. I went with my sisters and my mom. My sisters Torrie and Suzie saw it the day it came out, but my mom wasn't that interested in it and they went with there wards, so I got left out I guess. Oh well... I have never seen a movie where the characters looked exactly as I pictured them, I guess except Bella but she did good.

When I got home Dave got confused and Sami was already in her pj's I than informed him as I had previously 2 times that day that we were having dinner at my moms and having a Christmas program. He was ok with that as long as we planned to call it a night early so we could watch "Kung Fu Panda" on Blue ray, since it was our first Blue Ray movie he was excited it was really good.

My mom made chicken enchiladas and they were amazing as always. We had fun, than we had a Christmas program, my brother's mother - in- law had made them some puppets for the story and he has been adding on so that there is a puppet for every character. Right before we started the program, I was sitting in that chair relaxing and I heard Sami head for the stairs and this in the Living Room, and it's off the hall around the corner from the stairs and in hall way is wood flooring, and as you can see I just have socks on, as to not get water all over my mom's house. Well... I heard Sami and I always like to watch her go down the stairs so I know that she is not being careless and so I jumped up and started running and I guess I tried to turn the corner too fast when I lost my balance my feet slipped out from under me and I fell on the ground on my knees, I looked to see if anyone saw since they all heard and my little sister saw... I was sorta embarrassed and my mom kept asking me if I was crying, I don't usually cry when I get hurt I laugh. My knees hurt so bad, so I sat in that chair with my knees up the rest of the night. Those chairs are treacherous because I was holding Sami and I went to put her down and somehow she got stuck in between you see the hole and we couldn't get her out it was really sad.

Here we are Christmas morning at 7 when Sami woke up getting ready to open presents. I don't think we have ever gotten such great smiles out of her. She is looking more and more grown up every day. I can't believe it. She didn't get much, she got from us: Mr Potatoe Head kit, these 3 dolls since she loves Sesame Street, a xylophone, and a new shirt that is pink with striped arms, so cute. She got a bunch of stuff from my parents and Dave's parents she is pretty spoiled I need to get more storage for her toys. Me and David decided to not buy each other little gifts but just put all that money in and buy a Wii. We just wrapped everything up for fun, because well why not. Around 11 we headed over to my parents house for Christmas Brunch, since everyone has more family in town they decided that would be easiest. They had breakfast foods, so good, a strudel and sausage and bacon... so yummy. Than we opened there gifts and they opened ours. David got some gift cards which is easier on the parents (they did it for all the boys) and I got this picture, which is something I have been wanting for years since I saw it. It is a Greg Olsen painting (not the org of course) and it is of two girls playing a wooden brown upright, it looks just like my piano and so I have wanted it for years, My mom found it and bought it for me... I am so excited. She also got all us girls sewing bags for our sewing machines... loving it already. After we opened gifts the guys all took off to go see the Valkarie (sp) with Tom Cruise and us girls, just hung out. It was my mom, me and torrie and Sami of course. We watched "Family Stone" and than when the guys got home we left. We went and visited Barbara and she opened her gifts we gave her, she loved them (I hope) and Sami got some books and legos... she loves them, I know I will have those books memorized in no time at all. Than today she got a Christmas Bear from her aunt Shelley and last week her Aunt Laura sent her this adorable outfit that I am going to have her wear on Sunday, so dang cute.

This is my parents tree.... my mom always decorates her trees so great I like to take pictures so enjoy.

Hope you all had a good Christmas... this is always a depressing time for me because that is what I look forward to after Halloween, but now I have to plan my husbands 30th Birthday party and so everyone mark your calendars for Feb 28th you will be receiving an invitation (hopefully) and it is going to be a blast... (his b-day is the 26th though). Well take care!~
