Father's Day

"I'm so glad when Daddy comes home, glad as I can be, clap my hands and shout for joy and climb up on his knee, put my arms around his neck, hug him tight like this, pat his cheeks and give him what? A great big Kiss! Smooch"
There are 3 father's in my life that are vital to my life and it's goings on. first one (in no order) my dad. George B. Ransom. He has always been such a great dad to me. I could write and write about him, but what I remember about him is that he was a great dad and as I was growing up he gave great advice, and honored his priest hood. I knew that when I married I would marry in the temple and my husband would honor his priesthood, and that my dad would like him. I did a great job. When David asked my dad for my hand, he gave it willingly... almost as to kick me out the door, (come on I was 25) but my dad did make sure that Dave would treat me well. I remember the day I got mouth surgery and my dad was there to hold my feet, and I remember the day I got baptized, I remember so many great memories. Many trips, and many hand slaps to the back seat (siblings will know what I mean), he is a great dad and he is a great grandpa. I love you dad... (but don't get any skinner)
The second dad is my father-n-law VerDon Jeffrey Mason. He goes by Jeff. He lives in Boardman, Oregon, and he works for a farm... the name of it I can't recall at the moment. I met Jeff the day before Dave and me got married and he was in the sealing room with us. He is a great grandpa and we see him as often as his time will allow, being a farmer it's hard for him. He has been a great dad for David, they have grown a lot closer since we have been married than when they were growing up. They have many a conversation about life and our family and Dave leans on his dad for love and support and Jeff gives it abundantly. Love you Jeff, thanks for being apart of our lives!
The last and most important father in my life is actually not my father but the father of my children, my husband. I got him that Star Wars shirt he is wearing, and I am biased but I think he looks ever so handsome in brown. I remember the day I met Dave, and I remember the day we kissed, and I remember the day he proposed, and the day we were sealed. I remember how happy he was when both of our girls were born, and I remember so much about him. We will soon have been married for 4 years and have only just known each other for 4 years and so it's been a fast and busy 4 years. He works hard at work, and works even harder at school pulling in mostly A's with a few B's. He is the webelos leader in our ward, and even though he has no webelos right now, he still does all that is expected of him. He is my best friend, my other half and we compliment each other perfectly. I complain that it took us 25 years to met but in all honesty it was well worth the wait. I love him more and more every day even as our waist lines expand. He is an amazing dad and the girls love him to pieces. He is always there willing to help me and take care of them in whatever fashion he knows how. I couldn't ask for a better partner in raising our eternal family! I love you! And your girls love you too! For Father's day he got a new short sleeved church shirt, church pants and a Star Wars shirt. Nothing too great because he just got a huge present with some inheritance money about a month ago. He is not one to shop for clothes so when he needs something new it is my choice and my time that is spent. He is pretty easy going to say the least. Give him, pizza, ice cream, pop, a game console, or a pencil and paper and he is set for life. But of course he wouldn't be happy for too long with out his girls! As the weekend came to a close I had the chance to snap a couple more pictures... here is Mrs. D... being cute trying once again to get the camera!
Sami not wanting to stand still enough for me to get a decent picture! I don't know what's up with her eyes... kind of a half blink. On Father's Day Daphne was sick and so me and her stayed home and Sami and Daddy went to just the last 2 hours so Daddy could teach his class. Sami loves Nursery and so she didn't mind going. Grandma R got her this new dress... it's the perfect size for her frame. And she is sporting the necklace that the Ransom cousins gave her. Speaking of Ransom cousins, NaDell shot these pictures and I stole them because they are cuter than most of the ones I got of Sami! This was while we were singing to her... she knew we were singing and freaked out thinking there was a lit candle somewhere! Here's that cute apron I was telling you about. NaDell is quite the apron maker... it is a hit!
Hope everyone had a good Father's Day weekend, we are still trying to recover. We all have colds and tender throats... Dave missed the bar... we are hoping it passes soon because colds during the summer are no fun at all! They just don't make sense to me... I think we just got worn down, I know I did! I just am taking this time before the 4th for some R & R.
